QUOTE(vearn27 @ Feb 8 2011, 08:50 PM) Noted and thanks for the link Food photography? Let's compare between kitlens and let me tell you my experiences, hehe.BTW, if wanted to do food photography... which lens would be recommended? 18-55mm is way much easier to use compared to 18-105mm! Reason? 18-55 is able to snap closer! So, I think 18-55 would be recommended by me |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 14 2011, 02:05 AM) Let's say everything else is the same, light loss and etc in the 2 lens the 24 f/1.4 would be brighter in the viewfinder. But when you shoot at same settings, let's say 24 f/2.8 for both lens. Outcome should be same, but the 24mm would be brighter at even f/2.8 due to lesser elements thus lesser light loss. Sounds logic Anyway, picture spam ![]() My neighbour's wedding hehe |

QUOTE(nagaraputra @ Feb 14 2011, 02:17 PM) Hie all sifus here, Same situation, the shadows are very annoying when hood is attached, try capturing with pop-up flash without its hood.I am a DSLR beginner with D3000. I bought this D3K almost a year ago but only used for certain occassion as feel like "sayang mau pakai" plus shame to bring out D3K while others using more advance SLR. Recently, I bought 18-105 lens from other forumer here to try out for travelling as 1 of my friend said it will covered all area up to 105mm. Yup i am very satisfied with the lens but just found out, got shadow when the internal flash pop up...at 1st, i wondering where is the shadow come from...lorr it is the lens....hahahhaha Now I planned to get new item - SB600 or AFS 35mm 1.8. Any advice from any sifus here? Sorry if this question might asked here earlier. Thank you very much. I would suggest you to go for SB-700 instead. If you got extra budget, SB-900 then. And why must you feel shame with D3k... Previously, I was using D70 with 1.8" LCD and 6MP, surrounded by D5k, D700, 60D, 5DM2, do I feel shame? Not at all! DSLR rules! |

QUOTE(nagaraputra @ Feb 14 2011, 02:42 PM) thanks bro for the response. i only use my D3K normally at home to capture my daughters photo and my family. Normally i will use my compact digital camera to capture a simple photo. recently i went to Cameron Highland and see a lot of people bring out their expensive DSLR and lens. i only bring out my D3K + 18-105 lens and they looked at my like i'm a alien...hahahahhaha...maybe the lens is too big for the body. Btw, i never tried using the hood. any different when using or not using the hood?if i use hood + SB600 on my D3K body, is the shadow still there?or it will get better if i using SB600. my budget only for SB600 at the moment. the cost is quite similar if i am getting 35mm 1.8. dunno which one i suppose to go 1st?in a dilemma right now.... QUOTE(nagaraputra @ Feb 14 2011, 03:07 PM) All sifus, Sir, no need think already, get a speedlight Please advice whether Sb600 or afs 35mm? the cost is almost same.... which one need to buy 1st?? Hmm, to me is like no different with and without hood, but good for protection against impact I think lol |

QUOTE(nagaraputra @ Feb 14 2011, 03:36 PM) thanks to all sifus Confirm no more shadow will get the flash 1st. i just a beginner.maybe start with SB600 1st. later upgrade to better flash. only wondering here, if i use flash, no more shadow from lens as mentioned earlier - cause the flash point is higher than internal flash right? yup i'm thinking about it too but unfortunately no budget at this time. when i want to buy DSLR a year ago, i always said to my home minister, only d3000 and the kit lens. no upgrade as my other friends which keep changing lenses. because i knew this is a very expensive hobby. then start to change lens because not satisfied with the kit lens and keep poisoned by my friends... now gonna to get the lens after office hour! Think for a long term investment, don't think of upgrading, in fact, you'll lose more money if you upgrade. |

@celciuz - edwardgsk, General_Nic and I have asked regarding your 70200's issue @ BTS, it will cost roughly RM200-300, even if your lens is still under warranty. The price is depends on your lens though, gotta bring there to check up. May need 2-3 weeks to clean it
