Which lens to buy when buying D7000?
1)kit lens 18-105mm VR
2)tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC
3)sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 OS HSM Macro
4)others ?

looking for a good all-around lens and focal length is not a problem as I shoot mostly landscape, street photography and portrait. The Sigma 17-50 f2.8 would be better but it's out of my budget.

take the nikkor 18-200 lor. great allrounder lens thumbup.gif

Actually I'm kinda wondering why nikon made D7000..is it that much diff to the D300s? Its an upgrade from the D90 yeah..they can't use D100 cuz they already made that model in the past. And its not a successor to the D5000 as well..so they call it the D7000..is that right? And comparing both features, the D7000 packs a bit more from the D300s. But nikon's soon coming out with a D400..so wut's the point of D7000? Is it just a marketing strategy? Sorry for my question. Just curious biggrin.gif

Will ISO 100 and ISO 3200 make difference? as both doesn't give noise.
*
if both doesnt give any noise, better u stick with 3200 ISO..faster shutter speed mah laugh.gif

Hmm.. yeahh.. I notice that. but isn't that acceptable to get noise when you zoom it?
I mean it's not noticeable difference isn't it? hmm.gif
I should practice more I suppose.  rclxm9.gif

actually from my point of view, that's wut high ISO performance are. u bump up ur ISO to get a good SS to handheld, and the pic still turn out fine. not that noisy i mean. but shooting at ISO 3200 will giv noticable noise when one pixel-peeps. its for convenience. shooting with low ISO will result in clear picture and no detail lost as well. but to shoot at 1/15 SS while handheld, that may result in blurry pics. but that is when the VR/IS comes in handy. it dodges the vibration biggrin.gif. well, i heard when printing a pic with high ISO, it will shows up and damage the pic. i dont know how far this is true.

I got 2 frens who got their dslr stolen. 1 of em, their house kena break in while hari raya. The 2nd 1 is he left it in the car, in his boot compartment summore! But kereta kena pecah n dslr gone. But I heard from a fren oso, his fren dslr hilang, he went for dinner, at a restaurant, put his dslr at another chair beside him. After a while, he noticed its gone aledi. The restaurant is quite crowded I was told. And maybe these thieves don't even know wut they took in the first place. If got handbag dat time, they sapu oso, dslr/laptop bag, they sapu oso,wut oso they sapu I think..but I don't know if there's a specific dslr thief oso tongue.gif

The trend is so common nowadays. Usually, it will be entry level dslr with kitty lens yawn.gif

Like my gf's brother. Everytime I wanna teach him, he never wanna listen. laugh.gif and shoot everywhere he will use 2 modes oni. The full auto mode, and 'no flash' mode. Then iwhenever he went outing, if he took 200 photos that time, all the 200photos will go into his fb laugh.gif maybe its a trend nowadays. Dslr is the new PnS tongue.gif

It is only my personal opinion that for every price range, Nikon always comes out on top in terms of spec wise for the body.
Nikon's consumer grade lenses are also much better quality too.
My only dilemma of investing in Nikon's system is the price of the pro lenses where I find Canon's to be much cheaper. Therefore, I'm asking people that have invested in the system their opinion and what makes them choose Nikon.
*
nikon system somehow got more user friendly features than canon i think. maybe canon are ahead in its video mode, but nikon's ahead in some ways too. like some forumer here said that the 5d2's 21mp creates more noise at higer ISOs vs D700, i took a look at that, and nikon's 12mp wins. they're not in the mp race because they know wut they're doing. and nikon's flashguns are also way ahead from canon. i was told about this yesterday tongue.gif. nikon's entry level dslr oso got some features that somewhat can be useful. i tried my fren's d5000 and it can set up min shutter speed and max ISO when ur taking in AV mode. and about canon being cheaper at higher end glasses, i dont have any idea cuz i never bothered to check on nikon's. but here, the canon 70-200 f2.8 IS II is about £2000, and the nikon's VR II is just about £1600. i guess nikon's is cheaper. that's what i read in a magazine anyways. n the battle of FF 5d2 vs D700, got 2 of my frens who switched from canon to nikon and i never bothered to ask bcuz im in love with my cam. but it bothers me last night so i google it and i ask them as well. better AF system, better noise performance at higher ISOs, better burst rate, can use DX lenses for 5mp, and they said there's a built in flash which all these features is not available on canon 5d2.

well, to say which system is the best, its kinda hard. i choose canon cuz its the first dslr i own n i know how to maneuver it already. and i have no problems with it so far. pick ur pick then. but if u choose either any system, it wont disappoint u. smile.gif unless ur a pro, then u should know which one will serve u best. smile.gif
