QUOTE(razuryza @ Feb 1 2011, 05:21 AM) And they don't blame themselves for buying low end camera which cost RM 9.90 QUOTE(pikipiki @ Feb 1 2011, 05:25 AM) Yeah, no one would give a damn if that 50mm is selling RM9.90. Unfortunately it is not and the price is about 1500++. For that kinda price I don't see any harm in criticizing or being little harsh in demanding a good product. 1500++ is not a small amount to most of us and of course we want very buck well spend. Apparently, the slow focus isn't the lens problem. Is your bloody camera problem. It focus fast enough on D700 and above series. Reason ? Blame Nikon for not giving better AF module in your low end camera |

QUOTE(User_Xp @ Feb 1 2011, 08:32 AM) Do you have speedlight ?QUOTE(Bliz @ Feb 1 2011, 08:41 AM) Pay peanuts, get notty monkeys QUOTE(bbuser91 @ Feb 1 2011, 09:02 AM) Ah yes you right . I dont ever mind the focus speed. I just tell him it is slower than Sigma , That all what i mean . I dont really care how fast it is , as long as i can focus . i am not shooting action so i dont care about it . What i mean is just tell him , is slower than Sigma that all =) Make it clear thanks So far i never complaint any lenses or body. QUOTE(alvinX @ Feb 1 2011, 09:03 AM) How the lens focus? O.o As you can say SWM = motor. Go read more regarding AF-D lens and AF-S lensBased on my understanding, the SWM is just a motor. The rest is left for you to explain to me about the relationship between this motor and the "low light". You will know why AF-S 50mm can lock almost instantly while AF-D might hunt ! |

QUOTE(pikipiki @ Feb 1 2011, 10:56 AM) Mind your language bro and please don't try to get things personal. First of all, my post wasn't referring to you at all and you're the one who reply to my post. See the person I quote. I'm being objective and fair here. How is it a camera problem when almost the same price Sigma can provide a better deal? yeah yeah you got the D700 which got no blood while ours are all full of blood as you put it but that is besides the point. What we consumers want is to get the best deal with the lowest cost. Also, they got their opinion for not enjoying the nikon 1.4G AF speed and so be it. Don't get it why you should be so raged about it. Calm down gentleman. If you are gonna start picking things as such there are endless debates here, plus, hey, this ain't just a nikon d700 discussion site eh. The lower end Nikon model ain't cheap and frankly ain't that bad too. Discuss objectively and learn to respect even tho you're in the internet bro. Secondly, I don't own D700. Check my photo EXIF and you should know well. If you don't let me tell you here, I'm using entry level DSLR of NIKON only ! I'm not even raged. You're the one who reply with raged. I was laughing my ass out when they comparing the focus speed. Does it really matter after all ? Will you actually suffer with micro speed different of focusing ? C'mon ! Be practical. Who is the one ain't respect here. Refer back your post and come back to talk again. QUOTE(pikipiki @ Feb 1 2011, 05:25 AM) Yeah, no one would give a damn if that 50mm is selling RM9.90. QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Feb 1 2011, 11:58 AM) If I use spot metering, let's say I use middle point to focus at the eyes, then recompose, the mid point went to somewhere darker, so eventually the pic will b overexposed right? Spot metering means that the sensor will take calculation on the center of the object you focus. And yes, overexposed |

Not because Nikkor lovers. The lens itself can't make me to keep it.
CZ different story tho I'd keep that ANYTIME ! And 17-50 really no point. Rather get any other Nikon kitty lens, eg 18-70, 16-85 ! |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Feb 2 2011, 12:56 AM) I'm not sure for those lens with built-in motor will depend on the camera body or not. @bold : that lens is fast on D700 and above body la But for those lens without built-in motor, which is screw driven, it will depend on the body motor. This, you will greatly see the difference when you mount the lens on lower end body compared to higher end body. As for lens with built-in motor, what I know is, there might no be difference at all. Example: 50mm f/1.4G is kind of slow, but 70-200mm f/2.8 is crazy fast. Anyway, if you really want to see the AF speed of the Tammy.... check out YouTube.... there're many videos posted on the focusing speed of the Tammy, and you will come across some videos on the problems with the Tammy lens. It's also mentioned the VC version focus slower than the non-VC version, it's also mentioned in the review by shashinki. You can always test at the shop and compare; Will it be a problem for you? I'm not sure, depend what you're shooting. You can test the focus speed to and from infinity, then test of the AF-C speed as you change the focus subject, see how fast the lens re-focus and lock on, then do it manual way in AF-S, change subject and re-compose/focus. This might be important if you're shooting events or capturing moments. BUT, more importantly is the accuracy here. |

Faster than on D700 and below
And to be honest, that guy use stop watch to calculate. Do you guys need that micro second to capture a scene ? Be practical Those micro second different is actually NOTICEABLE *laugh* Added on February 2, 2011, 1:09 amAnd taking Tammy into this is even a big laughter Sorry, no offense but I just can't help myself giggle at those keep on complaining on the micro second slow focusing speed which actually means nothing when you're not shooting sports ! QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 2 2011, 01:24 AM) the fact is kit lens not as good as tammy 1750 in term of defocusing since tammy has 2.8 maximum aperture. therefore people usually go for the budget lens like tammy 1750. So what with f/2.8 ? PS: Please don't reply me "you pay peanut you will get monkey" I never have any in that range. I can survive with 3.5-4.5 even with my wedding cover for my client inside ballroom. |

QUOTE(bbuser91 @ Feb 2 2011, 09:43 AM) KTCY was right ! 100% at ur side hahaha Happy CNY Using prime , no need care about the focus speed one , for me as long as it is accurate already good for me !! D is faster than G but just faster like micro second only. Not much different. Anyway happy cny lar , later rmb spam ur SC =D. Reunion dinner woohoooooooooo Added on February 2, 2011, 9:44 am LOL ><" QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 2 2011, 12:00 PM) I didn't say KTCY did misleading I said your word "with prime we don't need AF speed" is a misleading word Worship ? I saw some worshiping words even on the first page. IDK why. but for me 1870 is a very great lens with maximum 4.5 aperture even on 70mm. IQ wise I think it is better since it is better compared to 1855 KTCY (said this one to me on the other hand 1855 pawned 18105 moreover it is discontinued lens. Therefore I am so deeply interested! Read properly la |
