I'm not in some dilemma because of quality just that I'm a bit tight on my budget and want to get the best with the least of amount possible. laugh.gif
Because generally, canon pro lenses are cheaper but the 70-200 2.8 VR is one of the very few exceptions. Anyway, just wanna find out what makes ppl choose either system when they first started investing in it.  smile.gif
*
if ur in a tight budget, then i dont think u should worry about the cheaper/more expensive lenses for now wud ya?for most photographers/guy@gal with camera, they'll use their kit lens or wutever lens that is provided with the body first, and soon they'll know wut lens they nid the most. like when u shoot weddings for example, u use ur kitlens and u find out that it doesnt deliver the range ur looking for, so u turn into some other lenses. got wut i mean? or u like to do low lights, should go for primes or the f2.8's. just my opinion. so u wont need to worry about the prices for now. ur on a tight budget so expensive/cheaper lenses are not ur priorities for the moment. those will be in the future. who knows u hit a jackpot or wutever right? tongue.gif and the price diff aint that far, say rm500~1000?

go with the system u feel best in your hands the most, which one ur more comfortable with. investing in glass will be a whole diff thing smile.gif

My kind of tight is actually quite LOOSE laugh.gif  i'm tight as in i wanna get the most with the money spent not the amount of money available  laugh.gif
a few 500-1000 here and there and you could have gotten an extra lens or a slave flash. tongue.gif
I just wanna make sure I invest in the most economical system yet delivers great quality so I won't have to regret someday and switch system.
I'm very conscious to how money are spent. rclxm9.gif
*
if u got that kind of thinking, its hard for u to buy a camera then tongue.gif either system wont disappoint u la bro. unless ur really going pro and u need some specific features. like canon 70200 is more expensive than the nikon's. but the nikon's 2470 costs more than the canon. like that u'll be spinning in circles lor biggrin.gif

the credit card limit of 40k is my limit.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
but don't think i wanna spend that much at once since I'm still an amateur and I'm more inclined to invest in DX body first and only upgrade to FX later. Lens wise I prefer FX lens.
Therefore, my budget for now is about 8-10k. Then i'll slowly upgrade depends on my needs and what poison me. rclxm9.gif
D3s D3x 1Ds far exceeded my needs.  tongue.gif
*
why dont u go for the D700? u might as well go now rather than 'upgrade later' since ur budget allows u biggrin.gif during my early times on DSLRs, my uncle told me that i should go for the semi-pro body instead of investing on an entry level body. i didnt listen to him and i bought an entry level DSLR. as i move on, i feel the need of the FF. so i sold my entry level body since im not using it anymore. and all my other EF-s lenses too. as for nikon system, one can use the DX lenses on FX format DSLRs. so why dont u jump straight to FX for that matter? just a personal opinion laugh.gif

if not, the D7000 / D300s would suit/serve u just fine..just like edward said thumbup.gif

no pp no watsoever. just change the tripod abit i think n i must admit this is a lousy comparison since im so noob at cropping them. hard to get it straight rclxub.gif

as for me i think the D700 wins but 5D2 got the bigger resolution notworthy.gif

anyways, to topup my stupid and lousy comparison there, here's a web that shows the comparison better. scroll it down or just 'find' the word 'crop1'.

Cheers!

I think if you resize the 5D Mark II crop to D700 resolution, you'd find them equal or better than the D700. Just like the D3X would be equal or better when compared at D700 resolution.
*
look at the website i've posted. up there. D700 is abit better IMO.

Guys. I need an opinion. I am planning to upgrade to D700 or 5Dmk2. I dont own a lot of nikon lenses so I'm not inclined or forced to choose a certain brand.

I'm getting this for mostly wedding & event shoots.

1. Should I wait for D800/5Dmk3 or is it okay to buy either of the above cameras now?
2. For weddings & events, which camera is best suited for those occasions?
*
i suggest wait for D800/5D3 brows.gif

I watched youtube video telling that the heating problem is actually caused by lack of power source therefore if you don't mind to spend more money get duracel or alkaline battery which is not rechargeable (has more power compared to rechargeable battery).
anyway you wouldn't burst your flash gun like hell don't you?  tongue.gif

ya i watched the same clip i think. it was very detailed. i like that guys's vid. (if we're talking about the same vid la sweat.gif)

QUOTE(Bliz @ Feb 6 2011, 05:57 PM)
SB900 only overheats for those who don't know how to use flash, it won't overheat under normal usage, i have yet to get overheating after 1 year of using  laugh.gif

good review from a 1-year user. guess i'll go with the sb-900 then biggrin.gif

no la bro, i oso main2 tongue.gif just that i was abit impressed cuz on my 5d2, 12800 kinda kotor2 edi biggrin.gif
