Ironman.. yes
I'm preparing to upload some RAW--->JPEG samples now as we speak. Unedited. No PP whatsoever. No Chroma noise at all, just "monotone" noise. NR disabled as well Here's one picture just to show the comparsion first. The other sample I'm uploading and its taking damn slow Literally I'm shocked.. 550D @ISO12800 Samples here: Resized to 14/15mp because flickr won't allow more than 20mb per pic upload http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5421281628/sizes/o/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5420688581/sizes/o/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5421312284/sizes/o/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5421327342/sizes/o/ This post has been edited by -kytz-: Feb 6 2011, 07:32 PM |

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Feb 6 2011, 07:04 PM) Where's the EXIF? Didn't see any. Also, what's the lighting condition? EXIF data is all there in the flickr link I gave. If you want, I would be glad to personally give you all the samples you want. Just gimme a PM Shooting in broad daylight and pushing the ISO to ISO 12800 just for the sake of shooting in high ISO would not yield undesirable noise when the exposure is correct. Hope the photo posted is not what I have mentioned. You can still create undesirable noise in the picture by using ISO 100 or even ISO 50 by not getting the exposure correct. Best is to shoot at night and blow up the picture 100% in the shadows. And errr you're missing the point. Compare my sample pictures to Tony Stark's 5D Mark 2/D700. Why does his sample have so much chroma noise whereas mine is quite "clean' or only monotone noise? His noise is kinda "ugly" and blotchy/patchy or whatever it's called.. Anyway, I shot those indoors in not so gud lighting conditions I'm suspecting the problem is caused by the software he's using to convert RAW to JPEG QUOTE(geekster129 @ Feb 6 2011, 07:03 PM) Not too bad. I don't go more than ISO3200 usually..This post has been edited by -kytz-: Feb 6 2011, 07:43 PM |

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Feb 6 2011, 09:04 PM) I think you are missing the point. To make a clear & unbiased comparison of the ISO, you should test 5Dmk2, D700 and 550D side by side all under EXACT lighting conditions & subject. Do like what Tony Stary did for his comparison of the 5dmk2 & D700. I must be really MAD if I were to actually want to compare the ISO performance of my mere 550D against the Full Frame galore 5D Mark 2/ Nikon D700.. Read back my posts, I was just pointing out why is Tony Stark's ISO samples have so much chromatic noise but mine at the same ISO doesn't even have a hint of it? I gave several samples at different lighting conditions, some were pretty bad, some were better. But in the end, all samples didn't even exhibit any chroma noise, just luminance noise http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/image-noise2.htm I'm still perplexed to be honest Here are the samples again. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5421281628/sizes/o/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5420688581/sizes/o/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5421312284/sizes/o/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kytz/5421327342/sizes/o/ This post has been edited by -kytz-: Feb 6 2011, 09:31 PM |

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 8 2011, 08:06 PM) f/4.5?Really tak cukup bro. Using my kitlens I was literally shooting at speeds of like 1/25, 1/30 at some point. But still managed to get good shots. f/2.8 is the way to go since you have the budget for it |

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 8 2011, 08:59 PM) goldfries told me by having VR on lens actually reduce the shaking when you meter the object therefore you will compose easier, this unlike VR on body like what sony does. I think it's like this. I'm not too sure also:I myself not sure though. Anyway thanks for the input guys. I've decided to go for 1870. Thanks The effect of VR/IS turned on, you can notice it through the viewfinder whereas for Sony's body "stabilisation" , you can't see the "effect" of it, through the viewfinder Therefore, when framing using IS/VR lenses, you get less "shake" when viewing through the viewfinder, so it's easier to compose when the frame is steady. But for Sony's body IS case, you don't get to see the effect. So what you view through the viewfinder is a "shaky" image. So you'll find it harder to compose iinm This post has been edited by -kytz-: Feb 8 2011, 09:07 PM |
