And also to those who were yelling in dissatisfaction when we didn't play in front as much as we did after we were a man down, really? Was the tactical rationale so complex for these people to understand? We were already two goals up, got a man down, so why would we want to risk sending men up and make our midfield and back vulnerable? Can't understand these brainless yellers and screamers at SNBJ last night.
To be honest, we all know they will be the first ones to crucify our boys if our boys decided to just attack attack with 10 men but then lost because we left our mid and back exposed.

some of these people dont understand the 'dark arts of defending'... they have been too far pampered by glory-hunting with ready made world class teams that they are unable to comprehend the tactical discipline and sacrifices needed to play against teams far superior than you...
our defensive play last night was not weakness.. it was tactical.. we choosed to play that way because its the best option at that moment. each player's main priority was to defend their post and leave no gap behind. second priority was to waste time. attacking was totally dead last on the priority list.
by 'allowing' the Lebanese to have 'safe' possession in the middle third, and only tighten the screw and have a wall of two people in front of them if they want to make way or passes in-road, the Lebanese have no choice but to pass sideways.. again and again to lure us out to create opening.. and if we don't eat the bait, these 'safe' possession is actually time-wasting on our advantage. And by that, we have manage to keep our first priority and second priority in-tact. its pretty annoying and frustrating to be on the Lebanese side in that situation i tell you. Apart from the goal, the cannot create any other open chances....
As we need to double up on each Lebanese player with the ball left, right and centre, we need the extra man in midfield. Coupled with the red card, its obvious that we didn't have the need nor the presence to attack anymore. In fact it could be fatal if Lebanese could counter from our attack. Lumping the ball far out was the correct decision if we didn't have 100% safe option to keep possession. Our players don't have to leave their post - checked. Time wasting - checked.
if you still need an European football example of this tactic just refer back to Mourinho's Inter defeat of Barca in CL 2 years ago. IMO, that the only way to defeat teams that have a super possession skills like Barca. And if clubs like Real Madrid or Manchester United felt that it is below them to play like that, than they will never defeat Barcelona.
And be prepare for more of that when Malaysia plays against the 3 EPL teams and during the Olympic q/l group stage
