jojozep, juz get a contractor and ask them, its more straight forward and you can solve your queries and worries.
If you insist to try to locate it on your own, you might able to fin them without instrument. For landed residential unit, locating a beam is quite easy, as normally the size of beam will normally bigger than the wall, so it will not flush with the wall. Or, if you are able to located the column, the beam will be sitting on the column. Or, it may be a piece/ a long stretch of concrete bellow your slab.
Dun worry, experience contractor will know were are the beams.
