I don't expect 10000pts=RM50 no more.
No doubt, in the future, the points required to redeem RM50 will continue to rise. 11k, 11.5k, 12k...and so on...
However, I think 10000pts=principal card GST will remain.
*
other than GST Principal, 10k TP for RM50 still available for voucher of:
Sony / Photobookmart / Metrojaya / Machines / MyDin.

while RM50 voucher for HSL and Harvey Norman require 9700 TP.
Sogo & MPH 9500 TP.
Parkson 9300 TP.
Robinson 9000 TP.

I am not quite interested in vouchers. I want CASH.
The only thing I like TP is the point redemption fair at SenQ, it is indeed very attractive.
*
using mbb for 4 years now, never heard mbb can redeem TP for cash like MR sweat.gif

even hsbc also can redeem cash, rm50 for 12.5k points ~

called Maybank CS regarding the balance transfer from old card to new maybankard2,  the outstanding may not transfer as difference interest rate.
The 0% easy payment from previous card can brought to the new card but as one lump sump with interest charged..
*
QUOTE(pokgaizai @ Jan 25 2011, 10:08 AM)
with the mbk2 8.88%
*
why u want to transfer ur current 0% installment from old card to mbk2 then get charged 8.88% p.a?
if u leave the installment with old card, no interest at all.
and old card also may charge u with penalty fee for early termination of installment?

Nope, no penalty for Maybank 0%, just need to write a letter to them.
*
oh ok.

gst rm50.
if ur 1 lump sum balance of the installment + 8.88%/year <rm50 then good.
if >rm50 then better stay with old card laugh.gif

I got a question..

This Maybankard 2 Amex must comes with a Visa card?

Currently i have a seperate Petronas and Amex gold...
If i have to get the Visa too that means i cant get 5x points when pumping Petronas petrol anymore...
*
YES. this maybankard 2 amex will come together with visa.

if u still want to continue pumping at petronas, go find petronas that can accept amex nearby, then cancel ur mbb petronas.
so u will still get 5x points + 5% cashback if pump at weekend.

It is highly recommended to use Amex at Esso/Mobil because of the conversion of points to fuel, which is equivalent to an additional 1.5% cash back. If we use Maybankard 2 Amex at Esso/Mobil during weekends, we can then get 5x TPs + 5% cash back + additional 1.5% rebate.
*
and some esso/mobil station in kajang area will give 2x points on oct-dec every year, equal to 3% brows.gif

Please do not promote ESSO/MOBIL, my car get 20% less mileage with Synergy Oil. Some may find out that this oil is better. It depends. Some car may like this fuel but some car/engine not. I believe not all oil are the same and there is no best oil.

not promoting esso/mobil fuel but smiles rewards brows.gif

but then yes, depends on car ~

just back to the topic that, amex is accepted at esso/mobil pump machine notworthy.gif

QUOTE(ben83 @ Feb 4 2011, 09:45 PM)
How does this extra points for pumping from Mobil/Esso works?
*
it is bcozsmiles (esso/mobil rewards card) give 1 point for rm1, and 1000 points can redeem rm15 fuel (equal to 1.5%).

while mesra (petronas) and bonuslink (shell) give 1 point for 1 litre, not rm. then 1000 points (rm1900) can redeem rm10 only.

so, use mbk2 amex at esso/mobil on weekend with smiles card,
u will get 5x points + 5% rebate + 1.5% (from smiles), total = 5x points & 6.5% cashback.

take it for a long run, spend rm2000 at esso/mobil on weekend, u will get back rm180 ~

rm50 vouchers (redeem 10,000 TP) + rm100 (5% rebate) + rm30 (redeem 2000 smiles points).

thats all notworthy.gif

I guess you don't read my blog  tongue.gif Besides ESSO you can also get "cash rebate" with 1U One Card which works out to be 1% cash back. Click link below to read my post in my blog which I wrote way back in 2009.

Correction - Points only given with fuel purchase notworthy.gif

only for people who want to do ezypay.

this is bcoz we all know the max cashback is rm50/month.
so even without ezypay, can only get max rm50 cashback since the phone price all above rm1k. that is, if u not swipe on anything else on sat&sun.
while for 5x tp, ezypay or pay full then autopay both will get it.

not good for htc evo, coz if pay full amount then signup for autopay, digi will give rebate rm5/month, so bill will be only rm63/month (save rm120).

for galaxy s2, free talktime of rm40x6 months, not rebate for smartplan, means still rm68/month.

for bb9900, only get rm70 bill rebate, while if pay full amount then signup for autopay, will get another rm50 (rm120-rm70). but if u get the 10k tp promo, then good if take ezypay (10k tp = rm50).

so, only s2 offer seems good, coz get rm240 + rm50 (assume u get the 10k tp) = rm290. even without autopay, still profit rm170.
but if use the sim just to surf, then better like htc evo, pay full amount then signup for autopay~

note: if signup online with digi (not ezypay), will get another rm120 rebate thumbup.gif
