Hi all! anyone has experience using SIA KrisFlyer AMEX Gold from Maybank?
Am planning to get one and I have few doubt:

1) It says all purchase of RM2 = 1 KrisFlyer Miles. Does it really mean EVERY PURCHASE, including petrol, grocery, online transaction, foreign currency purchase, etc..?

2) Minimum spend of RM60,000 earn double miles. It is true? Means I can get 60,000 Miles with RM60,000 spending.. wow?

3) Any cap/maximum miles I can collect per year?

4) Any issue with this card? Like difficulties in converting into miles, other hidden terms or catch..?

Regarding AMEX Krisflyer card, understand that annual fee can be waived by minimum annual spend of RM18k? Is the RM18k calculated based on card spend only or all Maybank cards spend?

Is this promo valid for Maybank 2 cards reserve holders as well?

There is certainly places accepting AMEX for TouchNGo... but not Penang...

I'm pretty curious about this too! Out of curiosity, did you get this card for the travel and insurance benefits of the card? It's generally hard to justify the annual fee unless you're frequently travelling, using the lounges, or purchasing high-end items overseas or locally (those stores cater to Amex). Some people with a corporate expense account rock with this card.

There are no categories since Sep 2017 with the exception of the 1x ones. All transactions except government and the 1x ones earn 5x.

Sorry for noob question:
What is the air miles redemption rate using MR?
Based on Maybank MR catalogue, it gives 5600 MR = 1000 air miles.
When you check global MR website, choose Malaysia, it shows 1:1 (some 3:2).
Any suggestions?

Amex plat charge card vs M2P is on par... can't seem to justify the 3k annual fee.

The spend needed to unlock the bonus points were only MYR5k last year as I recall... MYR20k is certainly too steep.

Also re Hotel Stay you only receive mid tier status which other cards can give I.e. Visa Infinite for Hilton Gold.

It’s not on par, not even close.
