Knoxhult is their new budget or economy range of kitchen cabinets.

I have installed one in a rental unit 6 months ago. Place is 10 year old 3 bed condo lived in by 8 China students.

Thus far it has held up quite well for as long as you wipe up any spills and keep it dry.

Quality wise, the Metod series is obviously better, here are some of the difference :-

1) The carcass is sturdier and uses better quality fasteners.
2) The panels of the carcass are thicker and built of a better density particle board.
3) Mounting is by a hanging rail or direct drill into wall vs Knoxhult direct drill into wall method.
4) Drawers come with Blum soft close runners vs normal ones on Knoxhult.
5) Blum soft closing hinges vs normal hinge on Knoxhult.

If it is well taken care off, the Knoxhult should have a useful service life of around 5-10 years. Oh yes no warranty unlike the Metod.

Personally, I would just buy the Metod ones and give a less expensive door front over going the route of this Knoxhult. Any wear and tear just give IKEA a call and let them deal with it under warranty which is what I did for my other rental unit that the cabinet warped, 6 cabinets were involved together with the worktop, after 2 years it started warping due to the oven. They replaced all 6 cabinets and the worktop. I called, a week later they came to see and assess the issue, 2 weeks later a lorry came to deliver 6 cabinets and a worktop, they took the old ones away.
