not good to buy at any time.. the 1.8 is a renault and u know when its european its always with the rarity and expensive.
besides, the 1.8 is not that all powerful.. might as well get a modified mitsu 1.8 engine biggrin.gif
but buy at ur own risk la

thanks for the advice. You mean buy the modified mitsu 1.8 then replace the renault one? But how much will it cost like that?

Added on January 18, 2011, 2:58 pmThe one I plan to buy is 2003 Waja Auto 1.8 Premium, is it Premium is better than previous vision? I heard that Premium is more expensive last time when buying the 1st hand.

The 1.8X? No-no...

1. Road tax is higher, over RM 280.
2. Parts super expensive and hard to find.
3. Too many sensitive electronics.
4. ECU is behind the front bumper, sure damage from accident or constant splashing of water.

I rather pay a little more to get 1.6.. I'm Waja 1.6 owner.
Survey the market, 1.8 when new car are expensive than 1.6, why now cheaper than 1.6? What's the problem.. Above many sifu advise you and stated all the problem of 1.8 Waja d.. So think twice.. smile.gif

I'm using 1.6 Waja..so far the problems is the fuel pump, always change within 2 years..

My friend used to have Waja 1.8..he headache much on the electronics. The ABS light just once wnt off for service, till he sold the car the light still on..

If you wanna do modding projects (eg GSR Mivec or Turbo) then it should be ok for u to pursue with this car.. biggrin.gif

this 1 see ur luck
lot ppl shouting around say saga got high fc but mine still good even though its older than theirs tongue.gif
it all depent how good the old owner maintain and keep check of their car
sometime i hang around my forman shop and seen some owner came to the shop as why their car very rough 1
turn out out of engine oil and running 3 cylinder for weeks d the rest history with burned wallet doh.gif

wira get the manual version as the auto are quite fragile like the perdana's
not said is bad but must maintain and sayang it alot like ur gf la brows.gif
waja so far so good apart from small annoying problem like door handle fault , wiper lingkage always jam , power window kong , bla bla bla but wira olso got this minor nicks

for me i choose waja over wira cuz the years diffrent and the price are not very far diffrent
as years adds up the wear and tear item will worn out so replacement needed
millage matters olso

Thanks for everyone that giving me the advice. Some of my friends had told me that actually for used car, I can consider looking for 1998 wira auto 1.6 or before 1998 because the engine is Japanese Mitsu, it's better than those after the 1998 one. How do you guys think about it?

^Better get after 2000 cars... As the car aged 15 years, it will be harder to get insurance...
To maintain a car's FC, regular service and good quality oil to be used....

Off topic : As a ex-engineer/technician of proton, dont tell me you doesn't know Campro doesn't produce 1.8. If you follow the replies in this thread, you'll see that people already mentioned this is a Renault engine. Please stop spamming around the forum without even go through what people is discussing.
