Hi I'm planning to but a small glass cabinet in Ikea Singapore just because KL is 300km away from my house in JB. If it is taxable then what it the rates? 7% 10%?

The cabinet is only RM13 more expensive in Singapore but if u include the fuel price + tol.. its not worthy.

I manage to carried it out even tho they've stopped me.. all I did was told them it's a furniture to keep my books.

A friend of mine works in import-export department, he told me that as long you said it's for personal especially for books storage, then it's ok.
He also gave a the HS Code just in case the customs need to double check. Bad news is, I lost the HS Code & my friend already resigned, but you can search it from customs website.
