guys.. i found something interesting...

560m 128bit @1080p vs 460m 192bit @1080p (both using same settings)

http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gamin...s-here-few.html

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.33612.0.html

click on the fps on the notebookcheck page to see what model is it

for mafia 2, same avg fps

for bfbc2, 27fps for 560m 128bit, 29 for the 460m 192bit (g73sw) not really big difference..

no comparison for dirt 3 in ultra for 460m.. but if u do the math, the 560m 192bit is abt 10-15% more powderful..and the avg fps for dirt3 ultra in 560m 192bit is 22-23fps... and 10-15% of that is around 2 or 3fps.. so theoretically, the 460m 192bit shud get around 20-21 fps.. which is what the around the avg fps the 560m 128bit got...

i think i can conclude that at 1080p , the 560m 128bit can perform almost as good as the 460m 192bit.. lol

I have not get my laptop yet bro. But i don't think i can update you on the 3D, because im getting the no-3d version, im just interested in the other functions. But i wonder if the diff between the non-3d and the 3D is the display panel itself? Do you think i could get 3D if i get a OEM display panel that supports 3D?  shakehead.gif
*
i think can.. theres a function called nvidia 3DTV play for all g53....

Hi

Between g53sx and g53sw which one performs better? Planning to buy 1 for my self....
*
at 1366x768 resolution ... 560m 128bit has better avg fps than 460m 192bit.. ive compared 5 games, using same settings, at stock clocks ( codbo, cry2, dirt3, mafia2 , sc2 with the avg fps of 460m at this site: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Game...s.13849.0.html)

all games turned out to have higher avg.. except for crysis2, that game i got same avg fps.. its higher but not that high , if u play the same game on g53sw and g53sx.. i dont think u can tell the difference unless u open FRAPS while playing.

at 1080p... go see my post abt this on the previous page... i cant test at 1080, cuz my reso only up to 1366x768..but imo, the performance is similar... no big difference..

dead island for 45 mins with core n memory oc .. around 82deg..

i tried playing this time with only core oc.. memory clocks on stock.. temperature at 78deg...

for dirt 3.. with core/mem oc, after 30 mins, around 80-81deg.. but with core oc , mem at stock, i got 76-77deg....

the cooling is really good if u dont overclock too much... <80deg .... in msia :0 :0

just a question is the gtx560m 128bit very very "cacat" compared to gtx460m 192bit? or just lil difference or just on par?

I am gonna buy the new G53X-s1208V it's coming tomorrow
for RM3999, coming with a free razer mouse and ROG notebook bag

any piece of advice?
*
if i had nickel for everytime i hear that... id be rich in nickels by now.. :0 :0

read this:http://www.bestgaminglaptop.net/reviews/asus-g53sx-review/

and scroll back a few pages to see what has been said over n over again.. but its not over yet :0!!

imo, its almost the same

reason being 560 has higher core/shader clock while 460 has higher memory bus

the diff is prob like 2-3 fps like that.. not noticeable unless u open FRAPS n see

at stock clocks... the 560m 128bit runs abit cooler than the 460m 192 bit.. maybe cuz of the smaller memory bus..

cud be cpu throttling ... r u on throttlestop ??

did u turn on v-sync?? i realize that with that on, gpu usage around 20-25% , with that , 80%

i heard about the G53X-S1208V is coming 'soon' n its only Rm3999  shocking.gif i cant find anything about it from ol' uncle google
mid to shed some lights on the spec, the RAM, HDD, ODD etc n where can i get/pre-order it. is anyone @LYN selling?
i dun mind waiting till end of november, im working outstation anyway till end november
im still deciding on getting Asus G53SX or MSI GT683DX which is using GTX 570M
i like those 'stealth looking' on Asus G-series but the nerfed 128-bit 560M is a bit of a drawback sweat.gif

Is it possible to upgrade theĀ  hdd on the g53 to 750 gb 7200 rpm hdd? Does it make a lot of diff?
*
its prob abit faster when booting up/shutting down and accessing programs... i wouldnt say alot of diff.. alot of diff would prob be HDD to SSD !! haha

abt the upgrade; it depends on where u r buying it... from local shops, its already fixed, u have to change it urself

if u buying online from illegear.com or gentechpc.com or xoticpc.com, u can choose what type of HDD u wan before making payment..go for 2x SSD for overkill brows.gif brows.gif
