now i want to upgrade but i dont know what and where to buy for a starter like me.
i need u guys help,
what and where shud i buy things so i can play full version? i live in k.L btw. (very thankful if can provide info and price)
what factions and realm that have many malaysian ppl play?

and buy 1 battlechest, it got the original wow(we call it vanilla) and one expension named The Burning Crusade.
then 2nd expension (wrath of the Lich King)
next and current expension (the Cataclysm)
for cheaper game card, you can buy it in the garadge(i fail spell)

there are both horde and alliance in lowyat net,
and on both pve(player vs enviroment, play against computer) and pvp(player vs player you are most likely kill by other faction if seen on sight... and camped) server.(which server type do you want to play anyway?)
i only remember in
thaurissan(pvp) horde; alliance there is on hard mode due to horde out number alliance 10:1, play alliance IF you really want a real man's challenge.
Barthilas(pvp) an old server, slightly better than thaurissan server, 3:1
Barthilas's Escorts Guild are form by Lowyat forum player.

i don't know much about pve server,
i guess they will replay and ask you to join their guild.
you can also check their guild recruitment in this forum as well.

its better you decide which faction and what race or class YOU want to play; then choose server and server.
its ok if you want to gather info now and decide later what you want as to play

about races and class, its doent matter what races rite? just the class divide ur style playing? am i correct? or certain races is good for certain class??
example like if i play human, i have to make warrior to or i can choose any class i want and it will be same strong??
i dont mind playing PVE or PVP, i just need frens to guide me what to do and where to go in this WOW world.
i mean guide and not help* (gold, powerlevel etc etc) so if any1 can guide me, muchly appreciated.

I also just started in us server yesterday

about races(male or female) and class combo, there isn't really any noticeable in stat/number between the race at the high end or at level60
pretty much the same.
(ok, i admit, if you roll female toons people tend to treat you sightly better than male)

for hardcore player, the main diffrence is the racial ablilty, they want to squeese every advantage they can get. some racial does make a diffrence in some situation.
say currently for pvp racial: forsaken's will the the forsaken; human's everyone for himself. both can re-gain control on certain spells
and etc...

for pve racial: blood fury(add slightly more damage for a small amount of time);
Night elf's quickness(for 2% more dogue rate, slightly better for druid's bear tanking compair to tauren's Endurance Base Health +5% druid's bear tanking.)
etc... its all debateable. in players point of view.

while other player just pick some certain race just for the looks(brute or beauty), or the story behind the race that inspire you.

mostly is just:
its pain that you play a toon, and in the middle, you felt "man, X+Y combo is better" then you felt you waste your time, and decide to re-roll again. that pain.

there are 3 very useful website you can browse that can serve you as a guild(if you can find anyone to help)

1st, the MMO-champion, this one keep update the latest news, patch note happen over the world about wow. got their own forum to discuss stuff.

2nd, Wowhead, all about quest/spells, very informative and very upto date. got their own talent calculator got their own forum to discuss stuff.

3rd. wowpedia, most infomation from the old wowwiki(wowwiki now are outdated), due to some drama, the people move to this new wowpedia. read this mostly for the lore/story behind certain things.

and of couse, the official forum, where people post some useful stuff get sticky there(but mostly people post qq, troll, lols, etc junks)

if i were you. I would opt for wow Taiwan. good latency for better gameplay.

PVE is basically the server where you don't want to get ganked by level 85 douchebags.

Its like PVP except that zones in between Faction controlled territory are not contested territory and won't automatically flag you for PVP.

Its more quest oriented so its much more relaxing (read : boring).

Personally, i suggest every new player to join pvp server. Killing each other is part of the game.

WoW taiwan is boring , trade channel no lulz , etc

WoW US , you have lots of fun especially the trade channel in major cities..OMG , most of the time I'll laugh ..people ask questions like where to buy items with valor points and you've replies like go to stormwind (I'm a horde)

Well , i am not sure about you but I dont recommend buying at one go unless you plan to get WoW TW , with WoW Taiwan , you just buy the top up card and voila u get the entire expansion kit. Yes its way cheaper

If you wanna save money , play WoW classic - you can lvl till lvl 60 and you can umm enjoy some ol' content with 30 days subscription included. However the new cool stuff are in cata , so you may want to go slowly to that path

I agree to a certain extend that wow US or other English equivalent comes with more troll in trade chat. But not everyone like those, so i dont see that as a big differentiator between wowtaiwan and US.

wowtaiwan, actually allow better customization of character naming, as well as guild name, which, u cant do with English. Again, this is not a big differentiator, but i just wanna suggest that it is hard to compare between the two base on trade chat and other trivial matters.

To me, its more about, big questions like, monthly subscription fees, competitiveness, communication issues, and latency.

Obviously communication gonna be an issue if u dunno the language, but if u play in Malaysia, (like me), i would prefer to play in a gaming environment with good latency, more affordable subscription and play package.

Well, i play in US and Taiwan and i certainly enjoy Taiwan more than US, at least i can do cool stuff that Neilyo did with its latency.

But i do miss my day in wow US, where i get to know many Us and international friends, but at least now i get taiwan chicks, its a tradeoff, not a bad deal actually.

It boils down to a person much like on how you like. For some people , I like to know people from Aussie and US better , its just great. Some people may prefer to use a prepaid system especially here in Malaysia and in Asia. You can't compare US WoW to say umm Taiwan WoW. I've said and I'll say this again , if you want more fun , I highly recommend you try US WoW , but then if you want to play the game and enjoy the content , then WoW Taiwan is for you

don't jugde taiwan and us server too harshly,
aside from asian and western culture, thinking diffrence

there also the game time factor.
western(us/europ server) calculate by 60day
no matter how much you play, you only stop/topup at the due date.
in wrath, you got bored and run around dalaran doing nothing, then troll the trade chat for the lol.

but asian(tw/china, who still stuck in wrath patch) calculate by minutes(?not really sure)
so for them time is money,
that somewhat make them serious abit
so afking is a big waste for them.

i do agreed tw server get better lantency, due to geographic closer to mal(if its still lag hard, please fire our communication minister please and replease with a foriegn minister for better performance)

Taiwan up to date, china in WOTLK. Taiwan also can opt for monthly fees, Rm52 per month. Meaning, afk is not an issue.

Beside monthly, Taiwan also can opt for time card, RM18. RM18 Softworld 150pts MyCard - 30 hours in game time.
