Noted LoLz.... tongue.gif

Which is why I intend to get the OCBC Ti card first and then work on it to the M2's VISA & MC tho the AMEX's 5x TreatPOINTS seems to be Yummy!!!
*
for M2, only 2 pairs are available.. Visa + Amex or MC + Amex. No Visa + MC. Amex is a must-take.

plan to apply for maybank 2, however I have 2 cards already with them Ikhwan Platinum and Amex Gold CC. Amex Gold CC only 4k limit. once received this maybank 2 I plan to cancel both Ikhwan and Amex Gold CC.

which one is the wise move, apply by calling them but I'm sure they will assign limit based on Amex Gold CC. another alternative is to apply using application form and attach all docs. I hope to have Maybank 2 plat to replace Ikhwan Plat

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Feb 14 2011, 07:50 PM)
Do not apply through phone. It's giving Gen-X and winner a big headache. Apply through fax instead. It is a lot faster.
*
or just click the "I am interested" link at www.maybankard2.com.my. Some of us got cards we did not apply for thru that.

i know Maybankard2 is the bomb and the must get item, but just to clarify, the gold AMEX credit card holders are also entitled to that 5XTP and 15% weekend cash back offers respectively?
*
no only Maybankard2 Amex (Gold/Plat) is entitled for the 5x TP and 5% weekend cash back

Do anyone know that booking air ticket via travel agent entitle for the cc insurance coverage? Or must we book directly from the airlines only entitle the coverage?

By the way, in a big dilemma whether to book with the Maybankard 2 AMEX (5x point + 5% rebate, cap at RM 50) or Maybankard World MC (5x point every RM 2 + insurance coverage of RM 2 million).
*
My understanding is thru travel agent should be eligible as long you charge the flights to your card... but best to check with the MBB CS.

tongue.gif Maybankard 2 has insurance as well so right now i think it is much better than the Maybankard world MC...
however... you could always get visa + amex mbb2 and mbb wmc (note treatmiles != treatpoints)

QUOTE(simplesmile @ Feb 16 2011, 07:46 PM)
Need help. I recently applied for the OCBC Titanium. According to the promo, I am entitled to 6 months interest free balance transfer right?

So I transferred RM12,000 balance to this card. On top of that, I swiped RM1,874.54
I got a rebate of RM42.15
The statement says minimum payment RM695.00
What is the minimum I should pay so that I don't get charged any interest?
Is it (RM1874.54 + RM600 = RM2,474.54)?
The RM600 is 5% of the RM12k balance transfer.
*
QUOTE(chemistry @ Feb 16 2011, 07:51 PM)
You should pay the retail trxn in full ie. RM1874.54 - RM42.15 = RM1832.39, PLUS 5% of 12k ie. RM600.
So, in total you should pay RM2432.39, in order to avoid being charged interest.
Pls note that only the BT amount is interest-free, not the retail trxn.
*
Chemistry is correct if the assumption is RM1874.54 is before rebate. But to be clear, pay the statement amount, which should be after rebates are calculated in your statement.

On top of that, I'm not interested with the Visa but Mastercard instead. doh.gif
*
ah you must have clicked "I am interested" like a bunch of us...

The availability of the MC keeps changing... now the CS tells me I can only "apply" end of April.....

Feel free to read the first post. All credit cards can use existing cc as reference. only difference is the age of the card, most banks accepts 12 months or more.

it affects online purchase of MRT tickets. Had that problem 2-3 years back as well.. eventually came back to a ton of voicemail from the MRT

Finally got my Maybankard 2 American Express and Visa Platinum Cards today via post laju.

Those of you who have read my earlier post, I was informed that I have both Gold and Plat approved but that's is not the case. However, that's not the end of it too. Click link below to read about my application for Maybankard 2 Cards and to see a photo of my cards where the AMEX card number ends with No.8  biggrin.gif

only the maybankard2 visa gets 1x for petrol. MBB Petronas only gets 5x points in Petronas and 0 points in other petrol stations (like any normal card)

Really, I couldn't find any information about any rebates during weekdays. So can I conclude that no rebates are given for spending during weekends?
Thanks for suggestion.  smile.gif
That one swipe for RM600 rebate in a month is valuable. And is the reason I can think of for keeping this card. To buy big ticket items in a single month.

As for Maybank 2 Amex,... what happens with weekday spending when promo ends? 1 x Treatpoints? Is it possible to redeem the TP to cashback? I couldn't find this in the catalogue.
*
rebates of 5% only on weekend spending till RM50 per month.
5x TP for all transactions regardless date.
Both for the Amex.

You will get RM50 rebate for the spend on 21 Feb 2011 in your 20 March 2011 statement.

IMHO, using the term Statement Month is inaccurate. The rebate is creditted on Statement Date.
*
statement month is accurate because it does not follow calendar month.

i.e. if your statement date is 12th of the month, one is entitled to RM50 rebate from 1) 13 Feb to 12 March, 2) 13 March to 12 April, 3) 13 April to 12 May etc.

calendar month would have given the impression it was from 1 Feb to 28 Feb, 1 Mar to 31 Mar which would be inaccurate for OCBC Titanium

Remains to be seen which system MBB2 is following.

i know its credited on statement date.

but how about the entitlement?
assume my statement date is 20th, i just got my statement for Feb yesterday and i have fully utilized the RM50 rebate, then today, 21st, first day of my new statement cycle, and i pay RM1k utility bills the no usage for the rest of the month.

on 20th March statement, will i get RM50 rebate or no rebate?  hmm.gif

if got rebate, then its by statement month, if no rebate then its calendar month.
any OCBC TI old timer can advice on this?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
yes you will get your RM50 rebate provided your statement date was 20 Feb

mbb2 IS confirmed to use Calendar Month. Reset every 1st of the month.
*
Reports so far points at it being paid at end of the month. But accumulation may not be (though a bit stupid of MBB if they don't do it by calendar month). Any confirmations from CS?

Hi.. I have a qtn.. I'm holding mbb petronas gold with ez payment for some goods that I bought. Now wanted yo apply for mbb 2 plat. Can I just terminate my mbb petronas with outstanding 4months ez payment or I need to do bt to mbb 2 plat once the application was approved.

Thanks
*
apply for the card and then request to transfer the ez payment to the mbb2 visa. if you cancel the card with outstanding ez payment, may need to pay penalty (not sure for MBB)
