IMO it should be something like this.
Flashing
1: Install the Android SDK 2: Flash Galaxy 5 Using ODIN 3: Conver to Ext2 File system 4: Apps2SD Native using ext2 5: Hardreset using ADB
Then they would know that its compulsory. What if a beginner stumbles upon this and ask lots of question? IMO if the devs aren't free with the wiki sorting, they should hand the wiki to someone who is not involved in the developing.

None of it is compulsary.
If you dont want to flash, dont flash. If you dont want to change to EXT2, dont - you dont have to. If you do, then you will read you need the ADB tools, so install the SDK. If you dont want to take advantage of App2SD, dont - its not required. If you do you will ADB also.
Anyway, ive argued enough. All this stuff is done for free by people who are spending a huge amount of time to make these phones better. Complaining that there isnt a header folder called 'flashing' on a forum which is not even directly 'owned' by the developers, isnt the way to get this sort of thing improved.
And like I said a few posts back, if a new person comes across this and doesnt know how to follow the steps in the wiki, then they are not ready to perform this upgrade. Take a step back and do some reading. This is development, not a final release.
Im out.

No its only required if you upgrade from 2.1. If you are on 2.2 then its not. When you perform EXT2 upgrade it essentially does a hard reset then.

motafoca/mad team, you guys are stars. I've been running 2.07 with ext2 for 5 days now and my battery life is so much better than it was. I've had no problems whatsoever. Loving it. A big thank you for all the hard work being put into this.
