hmmm...very tempting.. biggrin.gif but i think I should wait for more comprehensive review first... anyway my 1st choice would be n43sl with i7, and I will give asus until 1st week of may...but if asus becomes a loser and won't bring i7 n43sl.. then i'd opt for either n53sv or dv6
*
Hmm, N43SL is already out with i5-2410M + 540M in PC fair as told by one of the forumer, you can check the new Asus product guide for full specs also..

Would you download Hw monitor and post some temperatures for us please?
Maybe 1 for idle and 1 during load/gaming

Dam....im really being poison by ur short review now...specially with the speakers.....

But im actually expecting some heat probs cause the GPU is GDDR5(correct me if im wrong) and more power = more heat hmm.gif
*
Well you're right it's a gddr5 GPU but then it depends on the heat management also.. You see gaming lappies so powerful but their temps are around 70-80 only when gaming..

I used USB 3.0 now, not your say problems. is very OK. both on 2.0/3.0 device.

>A few qualms about this laptop is that the USB 3.0 ports are so difficult to plug in and out of.....

Added on April 17, 2011, 7:40 pmcompare more model to got perfect, that is very important. New Dell has a higher temperature is true. DV6 not USB 3.0 Also is true.
I want to ask. why not a lower temperature with USB 3.0 + Thunderbolt product ?
But I believe end of this year, may has a perfect product.

for examples, why apple not a product 1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0 + Thunderbolt ? why not used USB 3.0 ? that backward compatible. So, that not a IT, only 'Money (Bussiness)problems'.

Please about this. we play computer ? or computer play me/you ?

not perfect, on bussiness because that can't do it, if do it, who update/buy new computer again !

So, think about this real world !
*
What are you talking about lol? Did you know why Thunderbolt was exclusively first on Apple? Because few years ago Apple proposed this idea(lightpeak) to Intel to develop it... As of now, Thunderbolt is still a very new thing that is only going to work in the next 2-3 years, Apple just integrated it so that their Macbooks are more future proof... If Thunderbolt becomes a success, USB 3.0 is gonna be obsolete in 3-4 years...

I thought JBL has world-renowned speakers that would trump the rest? Haha...

They manufacture good speakers doesn't mean that their speakers on laptops are good lar, it would never beat a proper external speaker..

wats wrong with the touch pad? you mean the button is it?
i think the button is different from the previous version, if you look at the pictures properly..

btw..does the touch pad support gestures?
*
Yea the touchpad is a new design, but still have to wait for feedbacks from users to know whether it really improved from the previous ones...

Multi-touch gestures? of course it does lol..

PS: can any1 recommend me a wireless headphone with superb quality audio....not like those RM50  thumbup.gif

He's using google translator....i think
*
Wireless headphone normally won't be as good as wired ones because the sound is transmitted through frequencies and there might be interferences which would slightly distort the sound quality.. Whats ur budget? Most entry level audiophile headphones are at least rm200 even wired ones..

@jammerlee711: it's beats solo..
*
Wow it comes with the original packaging and all, I think you can sell it for around rm700 at least in garage sales if you don't want it..

Audio Technica AD300 should be around ur budget range, a very good entry audiophile headphone.. Try heading over to audiophile section to ask though, they might have better recommendations for a basshead like you haha

Well, questions like build quality, keyboard.. Why don't you guys go test the real thing yourself though? Other than the touchpad, the other things are quite similar to the previous year-2010 pavilion-dv series.. Also it's subjective and varies person to person... For instance, I might think that build quality like 4830TG is good, but Acer-hate boys would say it's shit no matter what...

Regarding the touchpad I don't feel it's cheap but a bit noisy when clicking on it, but it's still fine for me. Only the con I found for this laptop is the keyboard fn keys and f1-12 keys because it's terbalik for it's function, example like if I want to rename the file usually it needs to press f2 but now I have to press fn plus f2. No the fingerprint is very sensitive, only require one swap will do.

I had extended to three years warranty for only rm120.

I don't think Asus will bring i7 for N43SL as it's already promoted in their May brochure that this model is come with i5 only, so just get this instead now, no need to wait, and for the weight I found it's lighter than any other laptop with 15"6 inches.
*
Yup it's definitely one of the lightest 15 inch around, the previous dv6 slightly lighter though...

Regarding the Fn+ Fx keys.. I think there's an option to invert it, forgot where is it though, somewhere in BIOS probably...

i'm still hoping when asus put their may brochure on the website, n43sl i7 is included..who knows.. last minute update tongue.gif
anyway I think it's 90% already decided that I'm going to get this dv6... planning to go to LYP next week.. the price still at rm3299 (without the beat headset), right? and I can always choose to not to take the beat headset, right (scared that nnt ade shop kate tak bole pulak)?
*
IMO, RM3299 without headset is not worthed.... The headset is a Genuine beats solo headphone worth at least RM899, you can always sell in Garage Sales for around Rm700 then your cost of laptop is only Rm3000...

i still thinks it's worth it..considering it has better gc than n53sv... and i read somewhere the beats headphone is actually not that good... furthermore this laptop is going to be bought for me by my company.. so I can't just sell one accessories of the laptop and keep the money for myself.. sweat.gif
*
Haha, then no choice la if not ur money..

If you're not an audiophile, Beats headphone is a stylish sexy overpriced headphones with above average SQ... Yea it's still worthed it...
