perhaps his defeated body language was more than just `i dont like hodgson'...

who knows? angry with the way Rafa was treated? unhappy with certain players? money? wants to win trophies instantly?

I've seen Robbie, McManaman left......painful days..

And if El Nino walks out, its even worse. No player bigger than club but some players are almost equal to hope and inspiration...

what a weekend...constantly checking the internet to see the latest ....not on Suarez coming in but to see if Torres is leaving!

I kinda dislike Chelsea the way they approached Torres, Chelsea should show some respect to Liverpool since Liverpool stand firm that Torres is not for sale.
*
it happens, everywhere and every time. I wont be surprised if our club does it. mix the greed of agent and power of some players, its expected.

I totally agree with you.. The whole thing is just too weird. I mean the timing of the request, after Liverpool has sign a world class player in Suarez like Torres has been requested, and the fact that Torres committed his future to the reds when the 2 'lunatics' is still the owner. Now that Liverpool is in safe hands (both good owners and legendary manager which was his idol), I think it's very odd for him to think about leaving at time like this. Maybe, the agent? The media is stewing around? Or the Russian mafia tactics? It just doesn't make any sense even if the news is indeed true..
*
i found it odd too but the news at liverpoolfc.tv is quite convincing.

i think he is in 2 minds.....part of him loves liverpool...and the fact that we're an underdog club wanting to return to the goodtimes again...

but at same time, his club honours are empty...for a player of his quality...its sad he hasnt won anything significant. Yes, he has a WC and Euro medal. No disrespect to anyone, but looks like Torres might retire with less club medals than John O shea or Darren Fletcher...

i will be gutted and devasted if he leaves...i am clinging to the hope that this is all major play up by media or Chelsea..but i wont be surprised if its true Torres actually stated he wants out..

but i still worried bout torres transfer saga though..

You mean an understanding RIVALS fans, no? lol. laugh.gif  doh.gif

if this fella continue to talk about why Torres wants to leave as in a player at his age will want to compete at the highest level, win some trophies for club before retiring, i can understand and may even reply for sake of healthy football discussion...

but when he say things like Torres is wasted at Liverpool...then you know la...what kind of poster this is...no need to bother one la...

Like I said, facts are facts. There is no point to "ampu" our own players if they are shit. FYI, everyone can see United games too....denying the fact that they are shit will only make one look like a fool. Having said that, it's not to say I don't support Evans or Gibson, they just need to buck up or the gaffer will ship them out. Simple.

You dont flatter yourself with the best thread nonsense please. The subject is Torres, would I post in Blackburn's forum?
*
Okay, maybe 1 try...

Torres is indeed `wasted' if he wants to add more medals in his cabinet. Liverpool might not offer the best chances. But if he were to stay on, continue to bang in goals, and receive adoration from fans and be a great player (just like his AM days), is it really a `waste?'

The point i am trying to make is perhaps there's more to a football career than just winning trophies. It his choice now..to chase medals or stay on at Liverpool.

Its just that being a rival fan and your reputation here, you might continue to harp on how `shitty' we are and think that i'm in delusion to say that we dont play football to win trophies. so i dont think this discussion will go further. i hope i am mistaken though..

I actually already pointed that out. He can love the club, or he can love trophies, since those two dont go hand in hand, he'll have to choose one.

It all boils down to recognition. When you are one of the best in what you do, wouldnt it be nicer to be recognized and adored by more then just Liverpool fans? At the end of the day, you don't play to please the fans, you play to win. Its the end product the counts, and the end product in this case is trophies.

If he wanted to "bang in goals" all his career, he could easily do that in West Ham. West Ham fans would adore him, he will still win nothing and will still be a great player.
*
I think he already achieved that recognition and adoration status.

Why bring in West Ham? He is already with Liverpool. OR you want to state that we really stand 0 chances of winning anything for next 3 years if Torres stays?

The chances of Torres going RM is the same as Torres going to MU. He'll prefer Barca 100%.
Considering that the last silverware that Liverpool won is the FA Charity Shield and FA Cup back in 2006. I don't see that not being a possibility.

As in adored and recognized by not only Pool fans. Recognized by your fellow peers as a winner. West Ham was an example. If you prefer, we'll just call it Club X. Its representing a point. Look it up in context.
*
staying on at liverpool is not exactly the same with playing for West Ham isnt it?
I think its safe to say Torres is already recognised by his peers as a winner even if he never win anything again. He is that good and has proven it. On the other hand, i am not sure about some other players with plenty of medals in their hand...

If he wants to win medals with Chelsea or RM, its not wrong. Its not evil. I have no problem reading your opinions on medals and glories.

What i dont like is your attitude, when you can come here and claim that Torres will waste his years if he choose to stay.

You dont seem to get it. A player of his quality, should be in the mix for every trophy every season. Anything less than that, well it's a waste. Doesnt matter if he's plying his trade with MU, RM, Barce. If he is not in a position to be challenging for leagues and cups, then it's a waste regardless of amount of goals scored.

Put it to you this way, if he was in RM now, and RM are 10th in the league, not in CL, not in cup....then he is still a waste.
*
you dont get it too. you have your point about playing for clubs that are competitive and challenging trophies.
Problem is you''re in a thread where most of us believe we will be, with new owners and new gaffer. But you god-like enough to immediately wipe us away.

That was merely your assumption. Back then, Blackburn weren't even favourites. How did they managed to win the league then? Sometimes things happens against the odds.

like i said few posts away, no point going further with this fella....he thinks he knows everything. Behind all that smart logic and pretending to wanna discuss football, he is still the same.

30 million for Carol? that's over 50% of Torres if we off load him to Chelsea for 50 mil....very depressing....

if both transfers go through...its a huge huge gamble....
