QUOTE(nando @ Jan 29 2011, 12:16 AM)
If he wants to go then it's almost a done deal. We just need to pray that the gaffer will use the money wisely and rebuild. It will be sad, losing a talent like him.

Those who said that even nisterooy and Henry was sold don't understand. Mu were winning things when they sold RVN.  Arsenal had good times with Henry.

For many of us, torres was our companion and often only joy during this dark ages we're living in at moment.

It will be painful if he goes but if he wants to, what can the club do?
*
That's true, nothing the club can do, if the player really want to go.

No point holding on if player did handled transfer, life goes on, no one bigger than club.

Actually, the longer the CL is out of sight, soon or later some of the top player may want to leave.

If you guys believe tat Torres is leaving us, you guys must also believe tat Messi and Cristano Ronaldo will also ask for a shock move to LFC cause they love to work with KD thumbup.gif

Actually, the timing is not quite right, in the summer may be, but in middle of season?

Facts are facts brah. And the fact of the matter is, he has won nothing with Liverpool.

If and if he retires at Liverpool with no trophies, is that not a waste?

Remember how he destroyed RM? This kinda player, dont come around every Sunday. He should be challenging for 4 trophies in 1 year, not 1 trophy in 4 years.
*
Alan Shearer also a prolific striker in Newcastle.
But won little thing with Newcastle, and retire with Newcastle as his last club, and serving Newcastle for almost a decade.

He won PL title with Blackburn with KD as manager.

Yes, Torres can go if Liv is not suit to his ambitious as a team winning trophies year after year, but not in current situation in the middle of season.
KD is just starting in charge, if really turn out not matching his ambition, change to the new club at the end of season also not too late.

Chelsea may also ended emptied handed this year as well.
MU is very strong this year, unless they lose on their own.

QUOTE(smwah @ Jan 30 2011, 05:40 PM)
My point will be if torres leave, who can we depends? If we are in badly needs money then ok, go ahead. If we thinking to earn some money for the transfer and in the same time get a good striker to come in,  then it is not a good choice. A good players isn't simply like buy and paid, some clubs may demand high price, and if a good player doesn't mean only you are the one who after him. Point is you need some luck on this.
I don't see is KD ideas, letting a good player go always not a wise choice, plus the player is behave quite well. He should not have prob with the manager and the players. I see is more like business trade.
Anyway, now football is more like a business. Sometimes even you want to stay but the club want to sell you, also can't do much.
*
When Owen left, people also said the same, no recognised strikers.

It is not the club want to sell, it is the players ask for transfer request.

Yes, I need to agree, football is running like business. Loyalty of player to a club, even honouring signed contract, has become very rare nowadays.
You need business sense to run a club now.
Without financial strength, it is almost impossible to compete at top level.

If roman offer 50mil or 40 + anelka then why not. I can understand why he want to leave but submitting request a few days before window closes is a bad move from him. Maybe gerrard and kenny could persuade him to stay at least till end of this season. Or maybe he will change his mind and do a 'gerrard'.

No player is bigger than the club but we aint letting torres go for cheap either. Still, kinda heartbreaking to think he gonna play for a a rival and banging goals for them...
*
If Torres really want to leave, 40 mil + Anelka is a good deal.

maybe Torres playing for Chelsea can destroy MU's plan to win title number 19,  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

is there a possibility tat Torres is doing us a BIG favour and later he submit another request to join us back or juz go onloan till the end of season...........

u never knoe, he can help Chelsea to win all his remaining matches wif Chelsea's good midfield and defence icon_idea.gif
*
This is crazy idea... biggrin.gif

Nobody loan their star/top player, only fringe players, young potential but still not break into first team XI.

Btw, club can hold on the players even players submitted transfer request, as long as within the contract released clause (if there is any). Just you may have an unhappy player.

If 45mil + Anelka

I vote for "yes".

The club needs to go forward, the club should go forward as a team, not individual player only.
Football is about team play.

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Jan 31 2011, 05:43 PM)
Just wondering how many of you actually want to see Torres to leave so that got enough fund to buy other players before the transfer window close?
*
I bet zero.

It is Torres submitted the transfer request that lead to people vote for the move, as most people view that no point to keep an unhappy player.
