Damn nice to hold. If the rough grooves are knurling then yes, most Oly sized bars have em, but they are nicer to hold than the York Bars.

Eleiko Bars are a bit shorter than York Bars, by about an inch or two. They are extremely great to hold and they roll much easier too (ball-bearings at the end are smoother).

This gym is in Gloucester, UK. No hate to the Uni there but less well known Unis are better equipped usually - 3 power racks with shock absorbing platforms, 2 Eleiko Bars + 3 York Bars. They also have an Astroturf.
