M17's GTX460m is never meant for 3d, idk why those people in aw go put such a card in.
It runs games smoothly with med-hi graphic settings, but if you throw in 3d = gg |

I heard from NBR forums that dell pulled off the m17x 3d edition because of its limited gpu capability. But when they release future models with 3d, it's gonna be with a hell of a gpu.

So sad.. Anticipated some demos in the video...
Macam 30mins of advertising je But.. I'm happy to know they've finally implemented the CPU overclocking in the new M14x & M18x Bios for 2nd core i7... Maybe M15x getting new bios upgrade soon? xD |

260m runs at a higher temperature in full load, in some instances overheating up to 95c ++
5850 is.. not bad it can be overclocked very EASILY up to 5870's clocks with ease |

1. OC within tested clocks ( go check out benches on NBR)
2. Some GC can do better, some can't even reach. 3. Do some benches/play some heavy graphics game, watch out for your temp at the same time Hwinfo32* (Temp's safe within 80-85c, some would risk going up to 90c) 4. If burn call dell, they will replace. I don't know whether malaysia's dell still offers the GTX460m. But if you have a couple of bucks to spend, don't ever get GTX260m. Very very bad experience with it. As Greasemonkey said, watch for the throttling in nvidia cards especially 260m. Make sure you comp's bios is at A08 or equal. If still throttle could be temperature or oc tools. I use nvidial inspector for my GTX460m on M15x. << Very reliable xD This post has been edited by Unbreakable3131: Apr 20 2011, 10:33 PM |

Hmm I need notebook cooler + aircond room to stabilize at 900/1700/1500 Core/Shader/Memory.
But if you run at normal temp + default thermal paste & no notebook cooler: 1.800/1600/1500 2.750/1500/1500 Some people can hit #1 without being downclocked automatically, but if you can't you can at least hit #2. My friend got his 5850 overheat lastime(without oc), then dell replaced it twice. Until he fed up he go OC burnt another 1, so dell came and replace again. Never seen him for months already, but I know he got his mobo/gpu/heatsink/palm rest/back plate (rubber access panel) all replaced. Dell's such a big company, they wouldnt mind replacing your parts with not much questions asked. Of course don't call them and ''Hello, I think I fcked up my GC while oc-ing, do you provide replacement for it?'' Learn to talk smart |

QUOTE(putochip123 @ Apr 21 2011, 04:49 PM) And I was replying to puto that I feel heat on the keyboard, which he said no heat on keyboard and palmrest. Not only does WASD keys feel hot, the most heated areas are the ones of the right region of the keyboard, since GPU temps can be higher than CPU temps when using apps/games. At least for me who run heavy graphic apps This post has been edited by Unbreakable3131: Apr 21 2011, 07:33 PM |

QUOTE(duabijitelur @ Apr 23 2011, 12:38 AM) Casing replacement price as quoted when dell sent me :a) Casing set (911WT + KH6NT + VPC14 + KGR2D + 2C0ND) – RM976 1-time engineer service – RM168 or b) One year standard hardware (engineer service + parts) warranty + Complete Cover – RM1472 In my opinion, if anyone wants to get their casing replaced might as well get complete cover since only a difference of a few hunder bucks. But you not only get replacement, you get extension for you warranty. |
