I wonder, if I can't find this samsung email and samsung IM in manage application and titanium backup, is the apk file exist in the /system/apps folder? Only one way to find out....  flex.gif

Update: No samsung email nor samsung IM found inside /system/app  rclxub.gif
*
If you download it from Samsung App. The application called Social Hub. It is registered under manage application as Social Hub ver 7.+++ or it is located under /data/app folder as com.seven.Z7-1.apk

The original Social Hub that's come with firmware called UnifiedInbox.apk in /system/app

b4 i install speedmod kernal k12...i using the stock dxjpe kernel...
*
When you flashed the stock PDA file, did you remove the two files inside the PDA (factoryfs.rfs & param.lfs)? Only zImage is needed to have the stock kernel. The other like factoryfs.rfs is the ROM which definitely will wipe your phone.

oic >.< that time i straight flash...no idea how to remove those files inside the tar
*
Use 7zip application (freeware). Do not extract the PDA file just open the archive, delete the files then close the archive.

If you root your phone using speedmod, flashing stock kernel won't remove it. In this case, u need complete flash.

ok..as long as i nvr root it but only apply lagfix i dun need to complete flash..thanks ya..
*
Well, running stock kernel and ROM with root function is ok. It may be a problem when you need to send it to service center if they check on this. Only lagfix need attention when changing kernel.

My 2nd hand galaxy s is using Eclair rom, but wat i realize is the JPA rom provided online doesnt have an APN list...
so when i restore to stock JPA, there wont b any APN available for telco

Is there anyway to backup the JPA rom after i perform an update thru Kies and put it into a file like those phone, modem, csc
*
The APN depends on your CSC code and you can get JPA stock rom from Hardcore blog. Anyway, for SEA, there is a new rom DXJPE.

thanks mate.

does 500hz indicate that the cpu is running at higher frequency?
I thought that also affect the battery consumption also.

i'm flashing it right away.

Switching to JPA modem also since most of u said it's better.
*
The 500Hz is not the cpu speed. It is on how fast the kernel cycle the processes (multitask process).

You can unroot it but required a full flash of the stock ROM.

Anyway, from the blog above you can install DXJPE manually.

Based on the list from the 1st page, your phone was configured to Korea aka SEC Test. Malaysian set is XME (the last three alpha), AP mostly is SIN, XSO or XSP. Where did you bought your phone?

Err what is the point having a phone covered mostly in glass but need casing to hide. Thinking of it, it's like putting a glass in your pocket. smile.gif

Another note on the hardware, with latest kernel. The SGS can drive almost all headphone with audiophile quality (or almost to it, subject to your headphone).

Hi all sifu,
I need some guideline to install the speedmod-kernel-k12q-500hz from hardcore. Now I on the stock latest firmware which is Build number FROYO.DXJPE. My phone is stock with 3 combo button work without root. Shall I follow the procedure below?
1. http://touristinparadise.blogspot.com/2010...to-install.html
2. Shall I root my phone before follow step 1. Any recommendation? I just try update.zip method but not working.
3. What else should I beware of?

Hope you all could give me some guideline, this is my first smart phone. My last was SE K750i. I have this SGS since last year July. Can not tahan it laggy anymore. Want to unleash the potential of it. Thanks in advance.
*
1. Yes, you can follow the guide.
2. No need, even though you flash Speedmod. The root function will not activated unless you enable it in the recovery menu. Update.zip will not work in Recovery 3e (DXJPA and DXJPE), u need odin for this. Unless you have DXJG4. After flashing the custom kernel, you will get the recovery 2e.
