Interesting. I was testing XWJS3 Doc's beta kitchen v9.1. I found that the video recording auto zooms itself. I recorded a 3 minute song of me playing guitar and found that it auto zooms. xD Funny..

wow..  laugh.gif what if it zooms out of ur sight. lol.. how's it?? fast??
*
Oh it's okay so far, no major changes, just feels a little smoother, maybe placebo effect. but anything newer should be better.

hey guys... I'm having some problems here...

I cooked a rom using Doc's XXJPY with XEU CSC, JPX modem, and also hardcore speedmod kernel....

i tried installing papago on it and it vibrates a few times during installation and my phone reboots... anybody having the same problem??
*
I don't have that. I never used Doc's JPY though. Did you try wipe install?
You should complain that in the thread so that he can see it or here:

Oh...then nvm lar, i no need to update to current location to anyone tongue.gif

Btw, how is JPB or JPE? I saw your modem is JPB...

On darky's rom now, should i try Doc's rom? Is the custom themes in Doc's kitchen launch?
*
JPB seems to have better signal then JPE for me. Battery life and GPS untested yet.

syncing our contacts to google will duplicate contacts?...i have problem backing up my contacts..seem that my backup pro use google contacts to backup..i'd prefer stand alone
*
Same prob with me. I have duplicates, but luckily they all join automatically.

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Jan 20 2011, 12:59 PM)
i didn't backup google contacts. whenever i flash a new rom or firmware, the contacts will be automatically added to the phone after typing in the email add for the market  tongue.gif

and i don't get duplicate contacts
*
Damn, you're lucky. I messed up the first time I organise my contacts, now forever have duplicates.

OIC...so for Darky's Rom we noneed to change the fine name to update??just go to select tht file and install tht's it??

Added on January 20, 2011, 5:26 pmbro...im on XXJPP baseband now...do you think I need to update to XXJPY before i flash Darky's Rom??
*
Nope no need flash to stock JPY. Just straight to Darky. In CWM, install from zip file -> choose zip file -> darky_xxxx.zip.
Not install from update.zip.

If you read carefully from Darky's thread, or watch the tutorial video it shouldn't be a problem.

how the JS3 so far? it is a European version of JPY, wonder any different of perfomance
*
Tested it for a few days already. I gotta say battery life no real difference. Overall, much faster than Darky's when opening apps, booting up and etc. Still using RFS. I experience a little stuttering earlier today but now it's okay.

QUOTE(silentser @ Jan 20 2011, 08:27 PM)
so far no improvement, maybe worst a bit, but i dont know, as the guide say, it may take sometimes cause maybe that the first real time the phone actually trying to get signal
*
Wah, I thought u solder it! xD
Anyway, you should try faster fix. GPS is much more stable now. Never terbang sana sini already in maps.

Doc's JS3 browser has no scroll bar on beside... I chose 2.2.1 browser on doc's kitchen, what is the different between 2.2 and 2.2.1 browser?
*
Yup it's the same one with JPY browser.
2.2.1 - hardware acceleration, 4 tabs max.
2.2 - no hardware acceleration, 8 tabs max.

Who cares whether lagfix enabled or not. You can still flash a rom/kernel over it. I don't know why people hype about disabling lagfix. I NEVER had to do that.

Edit: Seriously. biggrin.gif

darn... samfirmware.com provided firmwares are not trusted... last time b4 i trade in my 1st SGS, i flashed JPA using their firmware and had problem, seems that its corrupted, this time i use the JPE firmware from them and still the same thing...

Added on January 20, 2011, 11:46 pm

thanks for the advice... 3rd day and i'm frustrated with flashing LOL
*
You traded in your 1st SGS? Lol why get another one?
Yep, it's a known corrupted file for JPA and JPE.

Anyone facing resolution issue with WXJS3 from doc room?
Tried to play City Jump and Rope Cut... The resolution is not correct...
Smaller resolution when playing city jump... Received "your device is not fully supported yet" message... Never faced this on XXJPY...
*
No problems here. Did you accidentally changed resolution density with Damian Tweaks or LCD Density Changer?
I tested Rope Cut, full screen like usual.

What kernel are you on before and what kernel did you use now?

Did you try the sacred weapon?
factory reset -> flash again -> reboot -> factory reset.
Do as many times you like, until satisfied.

Why I always got it in Landscape and the photo is "terbalik"?
How to rotate photo or how can I solve this problem? Anyone?
*
I manually go to desktop view of facebook on phone browser, view that pic and at the bottom right corner there's rotation buttons.

any guides or things i need to avoid?
*
Welcome aboard! Wow, I see your sig you're selling a nice white SGS! Can trade with mine? XD

Oh, you must have 3 button recovery working before anything. Always if possible rotate your phone in homescreen, so that the status bar changes position to avoid burn in of the SAMOLED screen. Should practice this from the beginning.

Sorry let me rephrase. Go to facebook on your SGS browser. Go to desktop instead of touch or mobile site.

hey guys, if i were to update from v8 to v9 with speedmod kernel lagfix and tweak enabled, then should i disable first?

and how to i customize b4 flashing?

i have the darky rom configurator app installed and selected then just leave it installed and flash the rom like normal thru CWM?
*
No need to disable lagfix.
Ya in the app just tick/select anything you like and leave the app. It will be in install.log. Then in CWM just flash like usual.

My thoughts on Doc's and Darky.

Doc's rom feels tested, fast, stable and it runs perfect after a few reboots. Everything works the way it should, boot up faster, load apps faster, scrolling is smooth and I like how humble Doc is after all this great roms.

Darky's feels so so oni la, it doesn't quite live up to the hype darky said about his roms (ultimate rom, the fastest, snappiest, speediest, like a revelation bullshit and everything) and I am going back to Doc's rom after a day of testing. Bye darky.
