My thanks to Yuheng for keeping me updated on the arrival of the Westone 4. I finally did the comparo between the Westone 4 and Shure 535 and decided that the former had a wider soundstage and better separation. They also felt less tiring to listen to. So in the end, to pair with my HM-601...

How much you paid for the Westone 4? I've only tested out the Westone 3 and prefered Shure SE535.

Also wanting to know how much I should be paying for the Shure SE535 since the listed price is around RM1,668?

@julchin_09: may i ask how is the bass performance??
*
Well from what I tested, I felt the bass for the Shure SE535 was present but not overpowering like other models. The Westone was almost similar.
Through my initial online readings on reviews for these 2, my understanding was that the Westone had 1 driver built in for the Lows,Mids and highs wherelse the Shure's was something along the lines of 2 drivers handling the lows more and 1 dedicated to the highs (Do correct me on this should I be wrong). Overall I prefered the sound of the Shure's over the Westone based on the diff genres of music I tested out so maybe its just personal preference. I prefer earphones with good crisp highs and mids with good clarity, the bass is present but true to the music (not amplified/overpowering). I feel like trying out the 3 models I'm comparing namely the Shure SE535 , Westone 3 , and Ultimate Ears Trifi 10 Pro again. Though I've eliminated the Ultimate Ears model due to the fit and the size of the earphone that protrudes. The funny thing is that I initially wanted to get the Shure SE425 and went to try it out but since it was not in stock, ventured into 3 driver tech and fell in love with it. rclxm9.gif

They allow you to try without any obligation to buy which is service hard to find around these days.
