guys,dont mean to stir any controversy,but do u think rooney still has heart to play for man utd?i can't comment on this since i still haven't watch any man utd game this season apart from the game against arsenal.what i noticed in the morning's match is that once he was subbed out,the goals came.coincidence?

ok.now i understand how rooney and berba works.just like last season's berba when he was not scoring regularly but i can remember he made some good move to free up space and put some assists as well.the role was just reversed huh?

Its not to punish Rooney,its to reward Hernandez

Last season Rooney also was playing like Chicarito. Stay up there with opponents defence. now he drop down a bit and take turn with Berba as a leading man.

You do realize hernandez can do all these things as well right...? Its not as if if we played hernandez,the opponents would perform better. I think people prefer playing against Rooney now because he's under quite a lot of pressure and everything he does will be scrutinized. And i dont think Rooney defends better than a defender. He has amazing work rate but that sometimes puts him out of position.

Btw,mustn't ignore the fact that Hernandez can also do all those things you've said,and for this season at least,he's also scoring goals on top of those contributions.

Eventhough Roo is not in goal scoring form, i'd rather start him then Hernandez..simply because he brings so much more to the team rather than just goals...see how he sacrifice himself to go out of position, going left, midfield, left back etc...no1 shud question his commitment to the team...not saying that Hernandez doesnt deserve a start, he does..but with our front 2 of Roo and Berbs linking so well now, no point changing them as it may affect their form especially Berbs...unless need give them a rest, like this weekend against Saints I think they will be rested

I'm not denying Giggs' existence, I'm talking about people who can step up to the plate and eventually replace our evergreen veterans. Right now, I'm not seeing it. Maybe they'll take years to mature and get better, like wine or Fletcher (lol), but sometimes these youngsters get impatient and you see them running away like Tosic did. Sadly, I've never seen Cleverly play so I can't judge but Obertan and Bebe do have potential, they just have to work on improving. Gibson...let's not go there.
Rewarding Hernandez immediately with a starting position would be like a knee-jerk reaction I feel. As many of the others have said, Rooney's overall play hasn't been poor the past few games, though I think he and the whole team were a bit off the pace against a very energetic Blackpool side in the first half. Plus, that pitch looks like it's horrible to play in. Isn't it even worse than our Bukit Jalil stadium?

With Blackpool expending lots of energy trying to close our team down, they eventually ran out of steam near the latter stages of the game. Even if it's home ground, a pitch like that can drain your stamina IMO, and that's when fresh legs becomes crucial. If you ask me, the decision to sub Rooney was more of a tactical change than anything else.

And thats what i mean when i say playing Hernandez doesn't make the team weaker in any way. He gives us the out and out striker/poacher role. Although i don't know how well he links with Berba.
Rooney is linking very well with Berba and Berba is definitely flourishing so it'll probably be wise to not disturb that now.

Sigh.... which brings us back to the question everyone would like an answer for... why is gibson still an united player. The way i see it, gibson is not in the team based on merit. Its just that  fergie had promised him that he will get to play a set amount of games this season (let say X number of game), and fergie is trying to find games to stick him into to meet the quota and pray that he would get through it without being a liability. If we are really short on CM for this game (Ando carrick hurt) we can always tuck o'shea on as the shield of the back four. IMO, o shea with a definitive set of instruction to keep things simple and shield the back four will be more efficient that gibson last nite. Nonetheless, fergie's mind had always been hard to pick. Won't be surprised to see gibson start on the wing in the next game against southampton.

Fletcher is the best example we have on hand in terms of being patience with the player. I must admit I was one of those who doubt Fletcher's chances to be in the first team but as always the gaffer definitely know what he see in the training (which we all dont) and we are reaping the benefits now.
