But he really is worth that much. Torres would get so much service if he goes there.

QUOTE(radio_head @ Jan 26 2011, 06:10 AM) NO CHANCE IN HELL.That guy is deluded. We are unlucky to have Valencia injured. Otherwise it would be great. In a team whereby Valencia can whip early crosses and Nani with his mesmerizing dribbles on the left would be excellent. I do think that opponents will have a hard time in playing them. In my mind, we could use someone like Valencia on the left. To whip those early crosses. The one I know who does that is Bale. But it would cost us a lot of money to bring him here. Spurs and Levy just not 'ngam' with us. After all, we took both Carrick and Berba from them. |

QUOTE(sickx @ Jan 26 2011, 11:57 AM) who let the cops out? When the time is right, we will sell him. Not to worry. guys, dont mean to stir any controversy, but do u think rooney still has heart to play for man utd?i can't comment on this since i still haven't watch any man utd game this season apart from the game against arsenal.what i noticed in the morning's match is that once he was subbed out,the goals came.coincidence? He is just out of form. That is always the case with Rooney. Once he gets his groove back, he will be scoring madly. That being said, it is already end of January and Wayne Rooney's scoring boots are nowhere to be seen. Opponents should rejoice that he still couldn't find his form. If he does, imagine what would it be? Berba, Rooney and Nani terrorizing defensive lines. Or something like that. |

Their claims are so stupid, I couldn't even bother.
I do hope this win at Bloomfield Road will change our ways to winnings in the next away games. I was terrified when were 2-nil down. But then again, never write us off. Thank god Barcelona Mark-II didn't happen. |

His partner isn't back yet so, I'm guessing he will score but not so often. Talking about his form, I am merely pointing to his scoring form. His overall play isn't that bad. He showed glimpses of Rooney being the assistant when Ronaldo was here. Not too shabby.

QUOTE(sickx @ Jan 26 2011, 01:41 PM) ok.now i understand how rooney and berba works.just like last season's berba when he was not scoring regularly but i can remember he made some good move to free up space and put some assists as well.the role was just reversed huh? That and his partner Valencia still out injured. Rooney requires good service and Nani's ability to overdo things doesn't help the cause at times. |

Fans are fickle minded. This thing about Rooney is being blown out proportions. He doesn't score, yes, but he brings that extra scare factor to oppositions.
And I know that Hernandez should start ahead of Rooney because of his goal scoring form, but wouldn't it be better to utilize Hernandez whenever the oppositions are tired like Blackpool last night, no? Chill. I know that Rooney has strained the relationship between him and the fans but lets not be those ungrateful bastards, alright? Despite of not scoring, he has helped the team. Even SAF said so. So, what is there to complaint about? |

QUOTE(Pain_X @ Jan 26 2011, 02:12 PM) ONE GAME????? Bro where have you been??? Lol! Look at the whole context bro,not the small picture. I thought he played well in Brums demolition match? His first touch is poor, everyone can see that but you can never write off someone as good as Rooney. His goals will come. Plus he doesn't mind to play second fiddle to Berbatov these days, again, what is there to complaint about? He didn't complaint about the substitution against him as well, no?Its not to punish Rooney, its to reward Hernandez Just because he is not in scoring form, he is shite. The fact is not. Be patience, he will come good. There is a saying right? Form is temporary, class is permanent? Added on January 26, 2011, 2:20 pm QUOTE(kamkamparadise @ Jan 26 2011, 02:16 PM) Last season Rooney also was playing like Chicarito. Stay up there with opponents defence. now he drop down a bit and take turn with Berba as a leading man. This and his best partner Valencia is out has definitely helped the cause. Nani is not putting those early crosses so much. He loves to fiddle around and at times it would produce magic but others just pure frustrations. This post has been edited by boxsystem: Jan 26 2011, 02:20 PM |

QUOTE(Pain_X @ Jan 26 2011, 02:21 PM) You do realize hernandez can do all these things as well right...? Its not as if if we played hernandez, the opponents would perform better. I think people prefer playing against Rooney now because he's under quite a lot of pressure and everything he does will be scrutinized. And i dont think Rooney defends better than a defender. He has amazing work rate but that sometimes puts him out of position. No one is belittling Hernandez's contributions. No one. Btw,mustn't ignore the fact that Hernandez can also do all those things you've said, and for this season at least,he's also scoring goals on top of those contributions. But it is his first season with us, he should bare it for awhile. Experience wise, Rooney wins, hands down. Hence, the substitutions and squad rotations. If you would like to argue, Owen should start ahead of Berbatov last season due to his match winning goals and impact. Trust me, the goals will come for Rooney. The more you play him, the better he will be. That is always the case with him. Scoring form - injured - goal barren. And the cycle repeats. QUOTE(SGSuser @ Jan 26 2011, 02:28 PM) Eventhough Roo is not in goal scoring form, i'd rather start him then Hernandez..simply because he brings so much more to the team rather than just goals...see how he sacrifice himself to go out of position, going left, midfield, left back etc...no1 shud question his commitment to the team...not saying that Hernandez doesnt deserve a start, he does..but with our front 2 of Roo and Berbs linking so well now, no point changing them as it may affect their form especially Berbs...unless need give them a rest, like this weekend against Saints I think they will be rested I am expecting the same thing. CMs are somewhat confusing. Will Scholesy start again?expect hernandez and owen partnership? 2 poachers QUOTE(FieryAeon @ Jan 26 2011, 02:29 PM) I'm not denying Giggs' existence, I'm talking about people who can step up to the plate and eventually replace our evergreen veterans. Right now, I'm not seeing it. Maybe they'll take years to mature and get better, like wine or Fletcher (lol), but sometimes these youngsters get impatient and you see them running away like Tosic did. Sadly, I've never seen Cleverly play so I can't judge but Obertan and Bebe do have potential, they just have to work on improving. Gibson...let's not go there. Direct replacements are hard to find. We never replaced Beckham nor we did with Keano. The most we can do is to have someone with quality to bring into the team. Heck, we never even replaced Ruud ffs. But SAF did mentioned somewhere along the line that Ando will replace Scholesy someday. As for Giggsy, it would be tricky. Left footed winger. Whipping crosses. Like in my earlier posts, I could see Bale replacing him but with Spurs playing in all of the competitions as we do now, I don't think he would come. That and Levy's price whenever we're buying from them. Carrick and Berbatov are good examples. Unless, Spurs would not make it to the Top 4 this season. Rewarding Hernandez immediately with a starting position would be like a knee-jerk reaction I feel. As many of the others have said, Rooney's overall play hasn't been poor the past few games, though I think he and the whole team were a bit off the pace against a very energetic Blackpool side in the first half. Plus, that pitch looks like it's horrible to play in. Isn't it even worse than our Bukit Jalil stadium? With Blackpool expending lots of energy trying to close our team down, they eventually ran out of steam near the latter stages of the game. Even if it's home ground, a pitch like that can drain your stamina IMO, and that's when fresh legs becomes crucial. If you ask me, the decision to sub Rooney was more of a tactical change than anything else. I do think that if they play their cards right, they could fight for a place in the Top 3. Someone mentioned Juan Mata earlier. Wan said it would be lucky to have him to play second fiddle to Nani/Giggs once Valencia owns back RM/RW spot. QUOTE(SGSuser @ Jan 26 2011, 02:42 PM) I get your point now, but unfortunately the team must always comes first before any player Carrick is out with a knock right? Added on January 26, 2011, 2:43 pm he played 90 minutes, so he shouldnt be starting or else his groin will cry again! Fletcher and Gibbo again? Dayumm, I am somewhat skeptical. Wan mentioned that Ando is still nursing his knee injury? Added on January 26, 2011, 2:46 pm QUOTE(Pain_X @ Jan 26 2011, 02:44 PM) And thats what i mean when i say playing Hernandez doesn't make the team weaker in any way. He gives us the out and out striker/poacher role. Although i don't know how well he links with Berba. Hernandez has that heavy first touch. Rooney is linking very well with Berba and Berba is definitely flourishing so it'll probably be wise to not disturb that now. Same goes for Rooney though. But between the two, Rooney understands Berbatov better, no? This post has been edited by boxsystem: Jan 26 2011, 02:46 PM |

QUOTE(calvin_yit @ Jan 26 2011, 05:04 PM) Sigh.... which brings us back to the question everyone would like an answer for... why is gibson still an united player. The way i see it, gibson is not in the team based on merit. Its just that fergie had promised him that he will get to play a set amount of games this season (let say X number of game), and fergie is trying to find games to stick him into to meet the quota and pray that he would get through it without being a liability. If we are really short on CM for this game (Ando carrick hurt) we can always tuck o'shea on as the shield of the back four. IMO, o shea with a definitive set of instruction to keep things simple and shield the back four will be more efficient that gibson last nite. Nonetheless, fergie's mind had always been hard to pick. Won't be surprised to see gibson start on the wing in the next game against southampton. Why is Fletcher still in the team? After series of horrendous sticks he gets earlier of his career? |

QUOTE(Quick` @ Jan 26 2011, 05:37 PM) dont tamak la, selling an off form rooney to madrid need to cut price la Brilliant move I'd say. They could use someone with Adebayor's physique there. I know most of you(if not all) loathe him, but that man can get goals. On why Citeh didnt want to use him, I don't know. It is either Mancini's really really don't have a clue about football or just plain stupid. Citeh kept on buying but insist playing 3 DMs. De Jong, Kompany and Yaya Toure.but i just notice they took our ex- on loan with option to buy till the end of season.... But never I would thought that I will see Real and Loan in a sentence. This post has been edited by boxsystem: Jan 26 2011, 05:45 PM |

Shearer has 11 hattricks to his career, right? Saw that on TV last Saturday. 5 of them in PL(in a single season) and he is leading the hattricks charts. Followed by Ruud and Berbatov.
The question is, where is Henry? runs before pulis datang ... This post has been edited by boxsystem: Jan 26 2011, 07:08 PM |

QUOTE(alien2003 @ Jan 26 2011, 10:23 PM) Fletcher is the best example we have on hand in terms of being patience with the player. I must admit I was one of those who doubt Fletcher's chances to be in the first team but as always the gaffer definitely know what he see in the training (which we all dont) and we are reaping the benefits now. You aren't the only one. All of us barring Wan that supported Fletcher since back then. We were skeptical of him. We definitely learnt our lesson.Added on January 26, 2011, 11:21 pmSomething about Rooney and Hernandez that I picked up from RedCafe. Hernandez is lethal against teams that play a high line but less effective against a team that sits deep and forces him to receive the ball with his back to goal. These are the sort of teams that Rooney tends to do well against, because he can reap havoc in the spaces that appear between their midfield and back four.
