guys, wanna ask something here about the memory pairing with sandy bridge cpu before i buy sandy bridge. because now still not many ram special made for sandy on sale ( except ripjaws x series, but hard to get in malaysia). so my question is will there any chance a kingston 2133c9 , dominator gt 2133c9 or dominator gt 2000c8 and clock the speed at 2200 cl7 something like the ripjaws x speed? cause i know the sandy bridge memory controller is stronger right?

bro owikh, based on your playing, which perform better on sandy bridge platform? 2133 c8 with so call bbse chip inside or 2200 c7 with psc chip inside?

1.355vcore fail at loop 97 , 1.360vcore fail at loop 129, which means i need more vcore right? if yes this processor really power hungry.

i only set multiplier , vcore , and disable all processor power saving feature in bios, other option all left auto, which few option i need to look out?

thank you.

@metsatsu, yeah , that why i aim for 500 loop pass in linx.

@ owikh84 , thx for help, bro. already set the setting you mentioned above, now running.

i think you mean you easily pass 3 hours + on MIVE rather than UD7 right? cause you mention UD7 timing more tight?

I manage to quickly and easily get 4.6Ghz out of the box smile.gif The heat which is produced is also unbelievably low. I am using a Hyper 212+ with 2 x F12 (push/pull) and temps never exceed 65C LinX or Prime. However my chip is a dud, it needs more voltage to be stable at that clock speed sad.gif

Question: What is core current limit and what does it do?

wa? then what problem with my h70? 8xc when linx at 4.5ghz blink.gif

2500K , core temp to measure temp, dont know it accurate or not cause the frequency also wrong one.

well, i guess my luck not that good, cause this chip need 1.385v to stable 4.5ghz.

Added on March 29, 2011, 8:12 pmscreen shoot on page 35, now still finding stable spot on ram tuning.

after 3 day of playing with my new pc I kinda big head now. doh.gif

4.5ghz ram 2133 7-10-70-27-1T
windows 7 32 bit OS
pi32m not passed , require more vdimm (1.665)
linx not pass 5x loop, require more vdimm.

windows 7 64bit OS same setting
pi 32m passed, require only 1.65 vdimm.
linx passed 100 loop.

been told by 64bit OS more stress. now kinda confused rclxub.gif .

Added on March 30, 2011, 7:49 pmnoticed linx GFlops increase from 102 to 124 when switch to 64bit os.
also
when pi32m the core temperature maximum 60c and balance core temperature (like 60c 60c 60c 60c)
but when linx the core temperature maximum 82c and imbalance core temperature (like 74c 82c 82c 80c)

Why not you do it one at a time? smile.gif Don't start tweaking the RAM timings or anything else until you get a baseline voltage for your desired clock speed. If you start tweaking everything at one go, it makes things more challenging biggrin.gif

working on that , thanks for advise , boss

Added on March 30, 2011, 11:13 pm64 bit OS, linx fail at loop 129 , don't tell me your pc over 100 loop is stable. lol

LOL, you really have the patience. Normally I don't run so many loops and as long as it's decent and stable, works for my normal gaming and Internet, I'm happy biggrin.gif Let me try and share with you the results.
*
ya, lesson learned from last time, only run 100 loop then declare stable, but when gaming, some times will BSOD.

finally completed the task.
right now running 4.5ghz 1.355vcore 1.66vdim because of running at 1T.
user posted image

searching lower vdimm now. smile.gif

Added on March 31, 2011, 2:33 pmupdate~

1.655vdimm . linx error at 6.xx hours # 389loop

i think the statment that " passed 100loop = stable " really can't use as reference.

blue slot is first and third slot?

asus also suggest user put their memory in A2 and B2 slot which is 2th and 4th slot in the manual.
