i cant OC my 2600k without changing my ssd back to IDE mode (was achi)
it wont boot pass windows loading screen...

if i change ssd to IDE mode in bios, den no problem

any way to fix this without reformat pc?
*
I dont think it has to do with OC bro
How abt non OC + ACHI, can u boot into windows?
To activate ACHI in windows there are several steps u must follow using regedit. I hv the procedure right inside my SSD sale thread.

is this normal GFlops for 4.8Ghz on W7 SP1 bro?
i still cannot get the 100++ GFlops... hmm.gif  rclxub.gif

ignore the wrong double cpu-z ss,1 should be mobo tab... doh.gif
*
abnormal bro, u would get 100+ with latest LinX+W7 SP1
did u use the latest LinX 0.64 10.3.3.006?
Stress more DRAM amount above 3MBs.

yeah,its 32bit limitation... sweat.gif
but now i already move to 64bit SP1,its really crazy mang....my OC setting on W7 32bit SP1 n SP0 cannot work anymore...BSOD,its need more vcore,really crazy  rclxub.gif
i get average around 127GFlops on 64bit with same setting...just vcore need to add more doh.gif
still running Linx now, hopefully can pass with minimal voltage bump... blush.gif

True, bcoz the DRAM amount is now increased and stressed more

owikh..running 3x quad rad in LD already??or still in TJ07? laugh.gif
btw nice clock...Dom GT doing quite good...tRCD cannot be tighten anymore? hmm.gif
i wish i have some money to buy a pair of good RAM for myself... laugh.gif
*
now on LD with 3 quad rads. previously i coudn't run LinX at all straight away hit 100C lol
so can say my new WC is 8C lower than the last one. just that the weather is too hot at my area ~35C.
That's da best this PSC based DomGT can do at this speed/vdimm. Somehow the LinX ended with a failure warning & Prime95 failed in 1 minute sweat.gif
For record my other Hypers DomGT won't shine on SB platform just doable for SPi 32M at 2133 7-7-7-20.

wheres ur ripjaws-x C7?? brows.gif
wanna see the performance of that kit...
thinking to grab one... wub.gif
*
RipjawsX 2200 C7-10, I've been benching this kit for quite a while ago. U might wanna check back previous pages.
Like masta louis said, the 2133 C8-9 is a better one.
List of DRAMs on my hand right now:

RipjawsX 2200C7 4GB - PSC
RipjawsX 2133C8 4GB - Elpida BBSE
DomGT 2000C7 6GB - Elpida Hyper
DomGT 2000C8 4GB - PSC
ADATA XPG+ 2200C8 4GB - Elpida Hyper
Patriot 2400C9 4GB - Powerchip

Hi guys wave.gif

Drop by to ask a noob question.
I'm now building a new pc for my friend, and I bought him the latest Core i5 2310, with Intel DH61WW motherboard. I installed everything and booted the pc and went into BIOS, I got the idle temperature of 60c sweat.gif

Double check-ed the mounting of the stock cooler, everything is fine, installed properly...so......I wonder whether the reading for this processor is normal? Stock clock + stock cooler + stock paste.
*
Seriously 60C is too high for such a proc. even 2600K on stock cooler is idle at 48C max
I'm not sure abt how ur mobo bios vdroop behavior could be idle vcore is too high.
check ur idle and load vcore in CPU-Z

Overclocking is certainly new challenge on Sandy-Bridge.

2600k, Asrock Z68 Extreme4.

Achievement: 4.6GHz, CPU voltage Level 1, 1.320v (+0.012v turbo).....
sustained 4.6GHz 100% stress @ around 115W@ max around 85C,
idle @25C, ambient 22-23C

Might try dropping the CPU voltage and upping the turbo ramping voltage.
*
would be nice if u could post some screenshots of the stress runs etc.
Take note that Win7 SP1 is the only way to take advantage of LinX testing with AVX. Thus the power drawn and vcore will be higher and so for the core temps.
Btw nice clock!

Those idle/load temps look quite normal.
Dont expect idle to be the same as ambient at 32C.
Load temps are more important.

Nice RAM kit sir louis! AFAIK it is BBSE chip which can be found on 2133C8 stick.

memtest is useful to determine whether the sticks are outright broken or testing to see if the dram settings stable enough to make it to the OS without corrupting.

Prime95 is the way to go.

No. It should be Hynix IC.

It is just served as a info. Shoudn't be a problem under prime but take hours.  smile.gif
*
Too bad Hynix cannot stable at TRCD 10.
RipjawsX series, the BBSE chip 2133C8 should be the best born with TRCD 9

Wondering IBT or Prime should i use for testing ?  Any suggestion pls:)
*
Should pass both IBT and prime95 to conclude stability test.
Note that IBT wil stress thermal to the limit whereas prime95 will search for dram setting error. Both do stress CPU..

Thx for your advice  rclxms.gif
and yet ...
should i turn it back to power saving for normal use ?
I'm ON Asus P8p67 ... some said it's better not the change any Cstate setting  sweat.gif
*
Turn on Cstate to save bill when ure in idle state.
I dun see why u cant change Cstate settings.
But most of the time i turn off all the cstate power saving related options.

on the shell, no, i haven't got a chance to test with new BIOS on LinX, later i'll update, at this moment, kind of busy with work.
*
There should be some changes in newer bios just wait for changelog.
Could be improvement in voltage control, auto DRAM subtimings, benchmark scores, etc that are hardly noticeable.
Getting my MIVE-Z within these few days as new stocks have just arrived today.

I found one of the disadvantages of Mobile version is increase in spam.
Pls change to Desktop version to see siggy & reveal the whole PC specs & cooling gear.
