mm..... yup.... thanks for ur advice... actually here we got a trail that have to ride up really hard (asphalt) then when descend can choose either ordinary road or... DH route usually will see all the DH kaki with full armor go down really fast ... i already try the down hill part using my HT & feel nice but have to do it really extra carefull or it will become disaster...& maybe i already change my tyre to 2.4 ...so that i feel it absorb abit the bump ..... but really dangerous coz the tail part keep lompat lompat like hantu puchong although i keep my weight very far behind ( luckily i got xs for my frame) to keep the bike from endo.... thats y im have the feeling to take another bike either trance or reign.... really hard to make decision from the diffrent of 1 inch rear travel  laugh.gif

but really appreciate all the advice from u all from here  notworthy.gif

Yoyoyo! Thermal Blaster, sorry if this is abit late, but here's a good read on REIGN being modded into a Mini DH pedaling bike
http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=519723

I found it interesting for the rear shox mod... Shortening the eye to eye length without compromising on the travel. This is some serious modding. notworthy.gif

nod.gif Thanks, Im also read this before, they also mod the Trance (5 inch)& Reign 0 (6 inch) to mini DH machine...

But they mention Reign & Reign X easier to mod coz 6 & 6.7 inch rear shox have more option brows.gif

Getting the Reign X, best to avoid the 2010 models for fear of the weak chainstay link IMHO. Just like what the OP said in the thread, it's somewhat 'tuneable' for travel provided it's within the range of the linkage movement I think? As for what's the 'acceptable' range of movement, I guess need to measure the actual frame?

Say if going the custom build way, one can always go for RP23 @ 7.875 x 2.25 instead of the stock 7.875 x 2.0.

6" = 152mm axle travel and a 2.0" shock travel = 50mm

So the leverage ratio is 1:3. In other words, every 1mm of shock movement is equivalent to 3mm of rear axle movement, right?

So putting in a 2.25" (2.25" = 57mm) travel shock should nett almost an additional inch of travel at 6.73" (171mm). Ok la, maybe not 1" but 20mm.

With this mod, the HTA/STA isn't affected at all if the fork remains unchanged in it's travel. But IMHO with this mod, I'd be going for a 180mm travel fork! LOL thumbup.gif

That being said, the above does makes a better & plusher ride going down, but going up is a different story.

So here's another DIY I found...
http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/work...pedal-rp23.html

Specifically on post #13 (http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/workshop/19558-how-do-you-run-your-pro-pedal-rp23.html#post301118)

I'm not sure the validity of the DIY above, but it seems that one can go higher/firmer than #3 propedal setting on the RP23.

By that you can have a super ride, both up and down. Provided u remember to fiddle with the settings/knobs/levers la... wink.gif
