 Fixing a hole of plaster ceiling

surf-it, if it is a hole cause by water, you better deal with the cause of leaking first. To identify if there is leakage, 1.) brown stop/ water mark will appear. 2.) The affected area will sag. 3.) At a later stage, the affected area will have holes and look like bird nets.

To repair the ceiling: Steps as advise by Eleganz Concept. But the support used is not name as aluminum bar. Its called G.I. Channel or furring channel. No one will use aluminium for ceilling support its too costly.

If its is juz a very small hole, you can juz take Broadica advise. however you must make sure the hole are small enough to hold the plaster.

However, if it is only 1 really small hole, i suggest that you leave it alone. Cuz plastering will leave a white patch which might not match the white or whatever colour of your ceilling which make it more obvious/ ugly.
