If i post in wrong area, sorry, pls move biggrin.gif

Which multimedia player should i buy??

I want it to be able to play all my MKV & AVI movies...
meaning that it would support almost all mpeg, ac3, aac, H.264 etc

i would also require it to output in 1080 via HDMI and with subtitle capable ...

and play my movies without lag or stuttering... most of my mkv movies are 15-20GB each...

Can anyone recommend??
I see many chinese brands below 400 but i fear it would not play certain file type/codecs OR lag when playing movies??

If you're using one, pls do comment about it laugh.gif

Not for streaming purpose... Want store inside player's hDD

Well, there's xtreamer and acryan pohd
Those players are more than good enough to accommodate your needs
Are you planning to stream those 15-20gb files?
I got tvix 6500 and wdtv live rite now, to be honest the only reason I grab wdtv because it supports movie sheets(displays movie fanarts and info), download from filehost, nfs server etc..
Missing some basic features like time seek and volume but there's always plugins for that

If you can what separates the Men from the BoyZ.....DUNE...not only can play 20Gb MKV...40gb MKV also can play without even 1 pixel out of place, yes, MKV also available in this size, totally uncompressed...
Dune was made for days like this..very soon, you will be playing with BDMV / BDIso instead of MKV....the cheapest model starts at RM800 biggrin.gif

But if you wanna buy a budget players...Yangxi brand also OK....I've recommended many members to buy it and so far no probs with MKV.
If got problem he sure kena bashing kaw2...you know how the forummers are...but so far all is good.

If you need a budget player without networking, the HDPRO R1055 with the latest Realtek chipset is pretty good. It can play all the common video formats with full HD audio bitstream. It has the full output ports - HDMI, composite, component, both digital optical and coaxial output. For inputs, it has 3+1 USB and also a Memory card slot. I think you cannot get anything better at RM199. Reliability is too early to tell since it is new but the built is solid and Yangxi has pretty good after sales support for a one-man show.

I have not played big MKV files so owners who has this experience with the R1055 can comment on this. smile.gif

I thought most of those like HDPro+ can also play BDMV/BDIso? No?
