QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Jan 17 2011, 03:25 PM) I know I know. I am just considering where to invest. because I have kitty with mine 35mm with mine. basically what I actually lacking is tele which 70-200 is a good option. instead of upgrading the lens it's better to have lenses for the different2 purpose isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong Added on January 17, 2011, 3:26 pmdo you know the exact value of QUITE FAR? so at least I can put it into consideration. turn your kit lens to 70mm. and see how far u gotta stand.

i've read somewhere that VR will degrade image quality at higher shutter speeds.
now i cant remember what is the threshold. anyone of you know at what shutter speed would that be?

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Jan 18 2011, 06:07 PM) 1st of all it's not degradation of IQ because IQ will always the same regardless the VR. However if you open the shutter for a longer period of time e.g 1/13s or even longer I think. the photo will shows some shaking because the VR system itself is shaking even your hand is not shaking therefore turn off your VR for those kind of shoot. e.g 20 sec aperture. I do read it somewhere the VR system will automatically signaled to turned off by the body if the aperture is opened for a long period of time. Only apply for some body <-CMIIW Canon does this as well. <- http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/educat...ation_lenses.dohmm...that's weird. i've never heard about turning off VR for slow ss unless it's on tripod. what i've heard before is, the vr system needs some time to settle down to float in the middle. if the ss is fast enough....it will not have enough time to settle down or smth like that. so it'll actually blur the shot compared to VR off. anyone heard before?

QUOTE(Bliz @ Jan 18 2011, 06:42 PM) Don't give people wrong info la, if the VR needs to be turned off at slow shutter speed then what's VR for? Never turn off the vr unless u have it mounted on tripod ( This is what i read from my 70-200vr2 user manual, yes the lens has a thick user manual ) QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Jan 18 2011, 06:44 PM) That's the reason I put CMIIW out there bro. CMIIW = Correct me if I am wrong. it's okay guys...not some rocket science here. so anyone know after what fast shutter speed we should turn off VR? or there's no such thing other than just to save battery with VR off.

QUOTE(5w33 @ Jan 19 2011, 07:26 PM) Is it worth to sell my 2 years old d90 and upgrade to d7000? if from d90 to d7000, NO. better to go for lens, d700 or d800 when it comes out.

hmm....looking at celciuz gorilla pod, group pics and all reminds me about this.
IR remotes. in camera there's a setting to set like 2sec or immediately right?
What are the nikon models of remotes? their price and features? I heard there are some where there are a few buttons on the remote to choose immediate, few seconds and etc
I've seen some 3rd party ones where it's just one feature. Press and cam snaps after 2 secs.
Anyone with some clarification?
