1870 got (+) value which is f/4.5 on 70mm
where as 50mm good value of money.
tammy 1750 good for learning cover mostly all the range we need exclude tele w/ constant 2.8 aperture
so which one will you choose?

meaning AF-S with come together with G
while most of D lens doesn't come with AF-S?

is that true?

I would say it is good for walk around lens since it covers 1750 with 2.8 constant aperture.
it will produce sharp yet creamy bokeh.
but I heard the focusing is slow since one of the forummer couldn't use it auto focus yesterday night during his yamcha (he uses 1750 tamron).

thanks for the suggestion and advice... actually i m thinking to get D3100 but what my concerns are the LCD screen resolution and the internal built in AF motor... is these downside affect anything in major?

i will try to try this 2 camera in the nearest shop to see how does it feel...but most important is the built quality of the camera itself....
*
For LCD is a big issue where sometime, you are not clear about the sharpness for the image. however since all the picture will show the same quality on the monitor it shouldn't be a big issue.
Yeah the lack of AF motor is an issue as you have to buy the newer lens which have built in motor which usually cost you most expensive.
for me D3100 is too small in my hand. but since it produce a good picture quality I don't really care about ergonomic, control offered is also good as you will be able to control your aperture, shutter speed, and iso directly from button w/o having any interaction with lcd screen.

guyz....need help about the video recording from dslr...y is there like lining up n down when record video....sometimes when subject in focus...the lining reduce abit...but still...hard to control to make it clear .....  sad.gif
*
I have mine lining up down..
I guess the problem is because low resolution of the screen so we could actually see the pixel is moving around as we recording video at least on my d3100 is like that.
(can someone clarify on this)

QUOTE(mint87 @ Jan 6 2011, 12:41 AM)
hi there nikonians..i wanted to ask something..i understand that the nikon d3 can change from FX format to DX format..which is simply awesome IMO..so i wanted to ask if there's other nikon camera can do this..the D700 perhaps? or the other d3s n d3x? thanks alot for any kind replies..
*
all FF will be able to use their sensor as cropped (DX) size by using DX lens.
so d700 will work. However please take note change the sensor size could cause you vignetting CMIIW please.
