... I can't help but feel a very ambitious aura for this series...

I quite like this despite general negative comments from most anime watchers. Might consider to get this on Bluray if the director did not screw up.

I like the original character designs though. But the anime made it feel so Ghibli-ish...

Well, you have to consider cost in animating. If the studio going to draw like the light novel, they will go bankrupt after 4 eps. The current anime design is compromise, novels is one off so the artist can really draw it out. Anime animators do not have such luxury.

its bout character design, its not bout animating costs. one can simplify the drawing while retaining the design. but this one doesnt. it somehow modify it heavily.
try look at Kurenai the TV series, then somehow they retaining the character design in the OVA.

i know u like the show, but then u tend to try (in every way) to lick off their dirt to make their shoes shine.

frankly, this is not ur 1st post that make me wanna do tat. i observe how u posted n most how u post ur opinion, either u lick or u spit. maybe the word i use is a lil harsh. yet tryin to praise with BS or judge the book by its cover is a bit too much.

i wanna throw in Yokazura Quartet (both TV n OVA has different character design) in to the comparison, but i never read the manga b4, so i cant throw in to judge the character design.

Actually I tend to agree with Fyonne. Character design != animation. For example take a look at Haruhi TV Series. When it started, the design retains most of Noizi Ito's original design. But after K-On! aired, KyoAni changed it so it looks more moe

Another example would be Rurouni Kenshin and GTO. Both are from SPE, and both looks similar, even tho Fujisawa Tooru and Watsuki Nobuhiro's drawing are different. It's all about how the studio approaches character designing

Looks like the series gonna be suck that nobody cares for it? I find it quite interesting as there are few stuffs like this but not that really appealing. Not even that unique.

Feeling different if compared to other anime.

For me, watching it somehow makes me feel relaxing and interesting, unlike most of the current anime that are intense with fighting and battling.

Actually I'm quite confused with the overall setting of the Fractale world. Is the world we're seeing in the anime some sort of digital world or is it the real world but people can see doppels because they have Terminals (read: nanomachines) installed into them?
