I would personally prefer the LCD

For picture quality, I can never accept LCD. Only Plasma or LED. Just goes to show different people have different preference so best go check out themselves.

biggrin.gif depends on model too. the pana v series reflection much improve, the u & s series are like mirror so room setup will be more critical.

Yes, to me, that is the No.1 problem with Plasma. OTOH, excessive glare is my No.1 problem with LCD/LED and I can't look at it for long without tears to my eyes. No perfect TV.

this is based on what i see at showroom - the v series is much better and much lower reflection.

Beside reflection, how's the picture quality of the U vs the V?

best check out at the pana thread smile.gif but to me the v is superior, the u have a sort of wash out look. it might be the store setting or lighting but i see this at harvey norman and also at pana shop tong kong ss2. the v and surprising the s looks better. the model i looked at are all 50". interms of features the v is quite complete. do check it yourself to assess. some place really write down plasma so do your own research to see which is more suitable for you. a lot depend on source, setting, budget and feature needed.

ofcos led is actually lcd. some say the black level are improved, it's thinner and more efficient than lcd so you have to decide if it is worth the premium over norm lcd. to me not so.

just get the biggeeeeeeesssssssttttttt bad ass screen with your budget. that's what i did, i ignore all those movie usb, wifi stuff cos i don't need it.

Yes, I once notice it whereby the cheaper "X" does not have the wash out look compared to the more expensive "U". I suspect the Brightness or Contrast have been set too high. May be other expert in this forum will know better.
