For picture quality, I can never accept LCD. Only Plasma or LED. Just goes to show different people have different preference so best go check out themselves.

If for gaming, then buy LCD. I never like the look of Plasma anyway...and you can't get FULLHD plasma at the price of FULLHD LCD....only 1024 x 768 or something like that.

Yea,I like the look of LCD better too..Plasma consumes more power and lots of reflection, the place where I put my TV is near the windows,so no go for me.

well after doing many search i finally got an lcd over plasma.

so far some plasma when i look at it have a wash out look and also reflect badly. for plasma it is impt to have control over the room ambient and also make sure it is not facing window/glass door etc. also there is concern for burn in or image retention though it is much improve but from the pana thread i still see some people having this problem and also advice for 200hrs run in which myself do not have the time for.

one impt factor for me is after considering what sort of source material i tend to view which is not blu-ray and most of my videos are not high def or giving the best of quality i suppose even the best tv with so-so material will not give much diff.

i think video quality is very much like hi-fi where a high end system with mp3 source will not show it's true capability or out perform a capable budget system.

anyway - just my thoughts

Exactly, plasma reflects a lot,and it may disturb the viewing enjoyment if too much reflection.

And also,I bought a FHD LCD TV,but haven't fully utilize it's true capabilities yet biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif depends on model too. the pana v series reflection much improve, the u & s series are like mirror so room setup will be more critical.

Yes, to me, that is the No.1 problem with Plasma. OTOH, excessive glare is my No.1 problem with LCD/LED and I can't look at it for long without tears to my eyes. No perfect TV.

Beside reflection, how's the picture quality of the U vs the V?
