You probably need a EVGA SR2 and dual overclocked xeon biggrin.gif
Dxva currently only support up to 1080p. if im correct.

The video you are playing are obviously way out-of-spec.

try use other media player see how?

Change media player wont help, basically all media player will use the same video decoder, unless the video player isnt directshow-based.

nope, don nid those, i7 920 overclocked to 4.4ghz is able to play it quite smoothly already, 4.5ghz should be able to play it just fine  sweat.gif
so there is no other way other than to get a faster processor?

Whats the default video renderer you were using?
perhaps change the video renderer to "EVR" since its faster than other advanced 3d renderer, but you will lose softsub support.
2160p quite taxing if running on the EVR custom presenter since its rely on your GPU processing power.
Full bitstream decoding is fastest but i think it has many limitation, while currently no decoder on Windows support Partial acceleration so you are out of luck.

There is a DXVA-HD, prolly support the 2160p or QuadHD, i guess you have to wait the mpc-hc developer to implement it.
IF you are dying want to play the 2160p without overclocking you cpu like a mad, you may try your luck and use *unix OS and change the GPU to nvidia to utilize the hardware acceleration: VDPAUsweat.gif

CoreAVC is the fastest software decoder, but the CoreAVC GPU acceleration only works with nvidia GPU whistling.gif
because it utilize CUDA, while no software utilize ATI Stream doh.gif
If you still have to OC your CPU to 4.5GHz when using CoreAVC, theres prolly no hope for using other software decoder.
