guys,
the tips is,

water cold cold , 25-28 degree
light strong strong
co2 level at 30ppm , use drop checker
fertilizer more more , ( use step 2 , brighty k , green gain , eca , python git , full range of ADA fert instead of using all in one fert)

i can sure it will grow fast and fresh !!
*
not just cold cold strong strong more more la.. laugh.gif
everything must be balanced...

no, all this is special bacteria combination from ADA. It is highly recommended to put correct combination of them if your tank is new.
All this powders will help grow bacteria faster in your tank.
Pleco is not bandaraya  rclxub.gif
Pleco looks like bandaraya nod.gif
i want to know khalemi is using OTTO or bandaraya.

Greetings...

Firstly i want to say sorry for my lack of English.
I had one freshwater aquarium : 10inch x 16inch x 10inch(HxLxW)
Setup with 2 waterfalls like filter and 11W lamp 6700K.
Use ADA Africana Soil.
I'm using CO2 tablet for my plant(1 tablet every 2 days).

I'm thinking on to re-build my tank to look more natural and need your suggestion:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Side-Left View
What did you think about my current tank?(picture attached)
Does it look like messy?(Too much plant?)
Does my tank too crowded with fish?
Does my plant had enough CO2?(my grass seems not so green enough)
Does my plant had enough lighting or do i need to increase the Kelvin/Watt?

Please help me give suggestion or opinion on what should I do/don't.
*
too dense for medium size fish in a small tank laa... trim ur plants bit... tetra size and rasboras should be ideal....
no point dosing so much co2 when ur lighting is just minimal... everything must have a balance... if wanna keep it low tech, no need dose co2... make sure ur base fert and substrate is sufficient, ur plants will survive....

Actually i don't understand why

1) 1 feet tank is harder to maintain compared to 2 feet tank?

2) Do you guys put your aquarium under indirect sunlight?

3) What should determine a good regulator? Is the pressure gauge important? And what type of diffuser that you guys use?

4) Does ALL LFS sells Bacter100 and clear super in seperate form? I mean as in term of buy per scoop? Should we supplement bacter100 and clear super every month? Or just for initial start up?

5) Is Eheim 2213 or 2215 more suitable for a 2ft tank?

6) Any links to read about plants and their maintenance? I think i already know what are the basics equips for a planted tank and now i need infos on flora and fauna and some maintenance clue!
*
1. smaller tank with lesser volume of water has less stable water parameter to higher volume water...

2. no we dont put it under direct sunlight... if possible, away from sun light... fully dependent on the lighting fixtures can control the amount of lighting time 100%...

3. solenoid regulator is the best... make sure no leaking whatsoever and the pressure is stable... pressure gauge important to check if there is any more co2 left in the cylinder... just get any diffuser available in LFS... most of them will work... but overtime when algae starts to grow on the diffuser, it gets harder to clean and eventually u will need to replace it...

4. not all LFS sells bacter100 and clear super... if they do carry them, they usually sell them in separate form (per scoop or per bottle).... initial start up is sufficient...

5. Eheim 2213 is sufficient... dont get filters which has too high LPH for a small tank... even with flow regulator on, u will create lots of pressure in ur canister filter... this will wear off the o-ring....

6. google for ADA...

Ic, same "technology"? How they did the piping?
At the back wall, it's dripping water into the soil. And how they do the rocks?
*
the back foundation is not real rocks... they have water piping and filtration system running inside...

is otto very sensetive to water parameter? I just bought 1 otto and put inside my 1.5mth old tank, and it died within hours..another SAE still pretty alive.

BTW it happen to another otto i bought earlier few weeks ago, but that didn't pass away within hours
*
not exactly... but some sick oto tend to be sensitive to sudden changes in water parameter... i experience countless time buying 3-4 oto but end up with 1-2 healthy ones...

coolermaster fan? isn't it a pc fan? so we diy by using that fan?
*
yes pc fan... get a 12vdc adaptor and wire it up... blowing the tank is insufficient... blowing the water surface, agitating it works better.... think of it when u blow a cup of hot coffee/milo to make it drinkable....
