Just bought one, gonna play around with it for awhile.
How does one go about changing the homescreen via computer? I still feel the phone is too unwieldy for it.

QUOTE(0812454 @ Feb 4 2011, 09:37 AM) hi guys! first, a launcher , to customize your homescreen. Some other good apps to customize homescreen are minimalist text and simi folder widget.im newbie here.. i bought my g5 on dec but till now still "empty"..dont know where to start to make it "power"..hehehheee.. then you start replacing the inbuilt apps with downloaded ones with better function. task killer is pretty useless for android phones. |

im not going to drag this thread into an argument about task killers, all i'm going to say is that you can kill apps with the stock android, and killing apps is rather useless for linux architecture. the rest you can google it up.

QUOTE(geekfiredog @ Feb 5 2011, 02:18 PM) Hi woundxp, dunno. I tried it again, thanks for the response. I've just installed and updated Kies, but I couldn't find any options to copy/extract the contacts info from my existing SIM card. All the contacts info are available in my SIM only, not in any other places (outlook, google a/c, PC, SD card and etc). The only apps that I found is SIM2Phone, but looks like the link is broken or the apps is no longer available. Still looking for a way to extract the contact info instead of retype all the contacts again. Go to Contacts Press menu button(next to your home button) Press More Press Copy Contacts Select Sim to Phone |

This program allows you to copy/paste files from your PC straight to phone. Without cable! Hahaha, first I get control my torrents wirelessly, now I get to send movies/music thru the air as well. QUOTE(curiouso9 @ Feb 6 2011, 09:24 PM) about the task killer thing spacelion talk about.. it actually a bit useless for android 2.2, but working for android 2.1 Do some research before pulling stuff out of your backside, seriously. When you open up the Running Apps in your android phone, it will also tell you how much memory each app is using. If you look properly most of the apps are NOT using any memory. So why do you kill them? They are just an empty reference , it actually consume more battery for the phone to reload the app. It's like you use Firefox , there's a function for it to free up memory when minimized so it doesnt consume resources, when you open it then it fetches the cached files. Instead you go and start it up all over again.im using android 2.2, some apps might not be killed by Advance Task Killer.. but im using Automatic Task Killer http://www.appbrain.com/app/automatic-task...bana.TaskKiller . after kill i check my process with task manager. yaaaa.! 98% work out. free my memory.. fastened my G5! some basic task killer can free ur memory with killing background process. just dont make it autokill, this feature will kill ur battery. not so useless for android 2.2 |

QUOTE(sangterap @ Feb 10 2011, 11:24 PM) Hi Guys/Gals, 1) put it in vibrate mode. or go to settings > sound and display > vibrateI have 2 questions: 1) Any idea how I can make my phone vibrate when I go into Silent Mode? 2) Any idea how to improve photo quality? I notice the poor quality although 2 mega pixels. Last time my Sony Ericson 750i also 2 MP but can take clearer photos. Any help much appreciated! 2) the SE k750i has autofocus, this phone doesn't. A camera with AF will take much better pictures compared to a camera without. |

QUOTE(sangterap @ Feb 10 2011, 11:44 PM) 1) I did that already. When I turn off sound, it doesn't vibrate... did you check the Phone Vibrate function like i asked you to? Or did you simply check the Silent mode without scrolling downwards? They are two different options you know.2) Any free apps that can do autofocus? |
