As tested by China's i5500 user, you can mixed flash the i5508 and i5500L firmware.................the touch screen problem can be solve. I5500/03 can use i5508 firmware

I just post the simple guide (strongly not suggest i5503 user flash this firmware, meaningless)

Prepararation : I5500LUYJP2 firmware, I5508ZNJP3 firmware

1. Extract the I5500LUYJP2.rar, get the file I5500LAROJP2.tar
2. Remain amss and boot.img, others file delete. Save the .tar file
3. Flash the I5508ZNJP3 firmware to your phone (touchscreen unable function after flash)
4. Switch off the phone via power off button
5. Access "Download mode"
6. Flash the new I5500LAROJP2.tar (only remain amss and boot.img)

Done

my wife is using a normal cloth pouch (free courtesy of moon, super seller in LYN), and it works fine.

by the way, i'm not sure whether many of you notice that the speaker seems to be at the back of the phone, so if you were place the phone with the touch screen facing up, the ringtone will be very soft. try facing the the phone the other way (the back facing upwards) and you'll realise what a HUGE difference it makes.

flashed mine to froyo this morning, so far so good. alarm bug seems to have gone. n the most wonderful thing is can install many & i mean many apps since can install to sd card feature.

Having to flash to froyo? Then no thanks. I oughta wait for the official version. I did another factory reset cuz the phone ia acting up on me.

there is no button to enable/disable 3g, rite?

juz rooted my phone.. after i flash to froyo, do i need to reflash it?

i dono anyone had face this problem before. why my g5 phone often give me message at bar say SD card unexpectedly remove, then  preparing SD card, scanning media.

what is this supposed to mean? i tried plug in/out few times the USB cable, but still no changes. however in Kies i can backup the data to PC
flawlessly. pls help me guys 

ok now the connection problem has been solved. now the prob arise in getting the froyo in. after following the instructions (including hard reset) my G5 keeps rebooting in normal 2.1 ( i guess) because the settting menu is still in monotones and the "about phone' still displays 2.1 -update1..

if this keep going on i might just wait for original release..sigh
