u should backup using titanium backup all of your apps before you update to froyo..
then just restore it back..

i never update to froyo... just flash froyo custom ROM
so far satisfied with WildPuzzleROM 2.2.1 Froyo v0.7
sense+froyo+oc+a2sd+proxy.. good enough for me..
battery can tahan more than 1 day..
internal storage still 113MB free after install 80 apps..

i'm using WildPuzzleROM 2.2.1 Froyo v0.7
so far never freez and working great..

mobile data working fine but need to manualy config APN
only gps not working coz of radio i thing
but i'm sure jacob will try to fix it soon

the best thing about no sense custom rom.. can enable jit rclxm9.gif

reasons i root my wildfire

1. a real performance boost - try install custom rom then u'll know the dif
2. more application choices - some apps need root permission to install
3. total control of your phone - totaly backup your phone and restore if anything bad happen
4. can unroot back to stock

faster then froyo & no more lag on homescreen even w/o oc
hopefully better power managment can extend batery duration
