OK went n asked around for the best price for 32 inch hdtv, these are the few that I'm interested...

Samsung 32c450 - ~RM1500 / lcd, hd ready, usb support most movie files

LG 32ld460 - rm1300/ lcd, full hd, usb support certain movie files only

Samsung un32c400- rm1800/ led, hd ready, usb support most movie files

All above inclusive of gold plated hdmi cable...(does it make any diff compared to the normal/silver ones?)

Usage - Bedroom, mainly to watch astro, upgrading to astro beyond soon, ps3 coming soon, watch blue ray via usb...Priority in that order...

PLease do give opinions which to get...Budget RM1500 +/- RM300

Welcome Any other model suggestions... smile.gif

Thanks in advance...MErry xmas and happy new year!!!

My fren owns an electronics shop tell me, if wanna watch astro, do not get Samsung as u will see ppl become wider. For Astro, he recommends me Sharp. So i bought a 42" Sharp from him and so far so good. Sharp's LCD panel is made in Japan where else the rest is from countries like Taiwan, China, Thailand, Indon and etc. I am talking bout low ~ mid range products.

take the RM100, byond comes with its own HDMI cable FOC, and it is gold plated

samsung HDTV can preserve SD video's 4:3 aspect ratio, so no problem with stretch image, in fact any HDTV is capable of setting 4:3 aspect ratio, however you will get 2 black bar on left and right sides

Ya. The parts are Assembled in Malaysian kilang.
But Malaysia has no plants Manufacturing LCD panels. LCD TV is the whole assembly. LCD panel is part of the assembly.
Sharp's panesl are from Japan while Samsung is from China. The higher end models might be from Japan, im not sure. But for your case, 32" confirmed not made in Japan unsure.gif

Okie to explain further, look at the link given below.

Item 1050 is the LCD panel. And it is the part that displays the graphics. Sharp's panel is made in Japan brows.gif

TS, if you can afford RM 1.8k, i suggest u go straight to 40" LCD. Size does matters. Toshiba AV/CV700e only RM 1.8k, Sharp 500M only RM 1.9k.

It makes a hell lots of difference between 32" and 40".

I read somewhere before, can't remember. But it's true, all the low-end LCD use China panel. Even most of their LCD monitors....that's why Samsung basically sucks nowadays. Only the most expensive LED gets the high quality Samsung manufactured panels. Even SONY is also getting it from China(50% china, 50% from Sharp, older SONY TV's from Samsung)....cut cost measures. Sharp made their own panels, Toshiba also takes some panels from Sharp. Hitachi takes from Masutshita (Panasonic) and Philips takes from LG.

Well, in terms of Panels, i think Sharp the best lor, since everyone wants to get from them...LOL.

The 2nd thing that makes the difference is the image processing chip, which most companies have their own propriatery engine. This is where the MotionFlow tech and other image enhancement stuff comes in. SONY and Samsung tends to have more "digitalized" output, looks more vivid. Some people likes the more colorful look, while other's like me prefer the natural colour look of Sharp.

If it's so easy i won't be asking here. Haha...Been to at least 6 shops, all say diff things, all promote diff models,

When i see also, the models they promote seems to look better at their shop...Maybe b/c their setup/video they display/settings..I don't know...

That's y having hard time to choose one...

40 in too big i'm afraid, my viewing distance is only about 1 metre... Come to think of it, i dun mind the panel from where as long as the picture quality is nice for most of my usage...but of course got some quality la, as in won't breakdown right after warranty ends...
