as we flashed through 7.0 to 7.5 to now the lastest 7.8 and stuff, does all of you feel that the batt drain is improved or not reli matters much?

for me, my batt drain problem does not reli improve that much compare 7.7 (now) and 6.x, 7.0, 7.6 and stuff..

last time I see Darky's changelog they said fixed.
so now they admit it can't be fixed?

I thought it is kernel bug?? Previously I was on K10K, no problem like this, when I switched to K12F and K12H which is based on JPY kernel, once unplug, my batt drop to 98%.... .. I'm still on stock froyo.. Howeveer, batt usage rate more or less still the same...

if i want to do very2 clean install from v7.7 to 8.0, do i need to flash back to eclair?

becoz my plan is, format my sd card > format my internal storage (16gb) > wipe cache > wipe dalvik > disable vodoo > factory reset > then install 8.0 Wipe version....is it also consider clean install?

Hi All, a belated Xmas and New Year. Been away from the Forum for more than a month and now its V11. think i left off at V8, went through a bit of V9 and then straight jump into V11. this thread has been moving so fast, i remember it used to be behind Desire but now, way ahead.

anyway, its good to see most of the old faces still around, KMRDeva, Jujx, Hihehihe (our honourable thread starter), Ken, |Kee| (not sure if ur the same person, last i remember u had an avatar of guy holding a camera taking photo now its a pic of a Hot Jap Chick Playing Lucky Ball, hope you wont become |Angry Girl| though , lch78 (my fav angry bird is also the black one....BOOM!!) and of cos the famous holy predator despite of so many complaints about SGS but still loyal to the phone.

ok, i noticed battery issues have been the major setback of this phone (but i think it applies to most smart phone). im not sure if this was brought up before but modifying roms will only bring you that far in terms of improvement. whatever it is, u still have 1500mah under the hood. roms will only allocate the usage of the battery to different hardware segements of the phone which is of cos linked to certain function of the phone and apps.

my question is, have anyone tried increasing the battery capacity, found one interesting battery replacement which could give the phone more power.

watch the video, quite interesting, really curious how the extended casing will look like. anyone here tried before? but if you dont want to use extended cover, then there is also a 1600mah version which only costs around RM100.

i think the 3200mah will be quite an overkill but you might only need to charge every 2-3days, very useful if you travel a lot. hope to hear some feedback on this. i might want to get one once the current one starts to show a downtrend performance. or perhaps Samsung could just come up with a upgrade version of the battery; same size but maybe 1700mah or 1800mah. i believe the additional capacity will go a long way in helping prolong usage. but of cos, playing around with custom roms is still fun

by the way, i was away mostly travelling in Thailand, rode from south all the way to north to the border of myanmar, was really fun and gps function was working, it showed the right location though i didnt check until accuracy of <500m. whatever it is, experienced road travellers dont use GPS, u either use a proper road map or common sense cos the GPS can sometimes give u the wrong way or the long way, just my 2cent.

when i was listening to mp3 thru poweramp, the drop down menu is highlighted in white.. so is the writing. wonder possible to change that.
