Your car is measured by the manufactured date. If you want a 2011 year manufactured car, you need to wait at least till April or May (Most of the time) . Just to share a bit from my recent finding of buying a car now, coz i just bought mine too  blush.gif

Pros
1. You can get your car now, rather than waiting till next year and die of anxiety.  biggrin.gif
2. Usually at end year, there will be lots of different rebates and discounts by car dealers, and surprisingly, sometimes good interest rates from banks. (Being a salesman, they got end year target to achieve too.)

Cons
1. Your car geran states the vehicle age as one year older : /
2. Lower resale value from car dealers.
3. Reminder that bank usually do not approve loan for car >10 years that easily.
4. Some slight impact from insurance company during claim. They will say your car is this year that year bla bla to lower ur claim. : /

However, the first 3 disadvantage is about selling your car. Tips from me is that, sometime we dont have to approach those car dealers who will squeeze you to trade in at a lower price. Try sell it directly to the end user. From past experience, people judge the car by the performance and also the car condition. As long you take good care of the body frame and engine, the resale value can still be promising. : ) I sold off my 10 years car at a good price still recently.

aiks i thought it was following the date it was manufactured. That is the reason why they are giving so much rebate for car which is 1 years older right? No?

Yeap. Since you know now, you can use this as a bargaining point to talk to you SA. Ask for more discount : )
Correct. Example a car was manufactured in Dec 2002 and but registered in 2003 when they sold to you. In 2010 we still count this car as 8 years old car because we count from the date of manufacture.

Then in this case why should TS delay another year in getting the car le? since the price is actually base on the manufacturer date.
