there is one thing u can try, do you have a water control at the heater? usually it is used as a filter to protect the heater. If u remove that and connect the pipe directly to the heater, your pressure will b much stronger and noise will be quieter.

hrm.. the water control already put at max level.. or are u suggest that to remove it completely? i really wish the noise can be reduce... kind of heart pain seeing the product is not up to our expectation after spending so much.. being mislead by the sales person.. Alpha technician saying the silence model will only release in Mar 2011..

Yes remove it completely. It can be done by twisting it with ur hand. So, u can test whether it works or not.

My only comment on Joven i70 is i have to really turn the knob to at least 6 to have a feel of 'hot shower' for my children during evening time.. maybe water reserve in the tangki is too cold to get it heat up?

Where did you buy it? I bought 2 already but I was told that silent pump for Smart heater not out yet and it was true as I check with Alpha. I think the electrical shop sales man sold you the product without understanding it or he did not bother to do homework. Just for the sake of selling... sigh lousy sales person

I'm currently using a Joven heater, and planning to buy another one. So far, i'm very satisfied with it.

Even the government prefers Joven waterheaters for its staff residential homes.

Joven has been very long in the market, good and durable. I also heard many customers asking for Alpha smart, RM 500+ for a normal pump, what a waste of money. Joven I70P is RM 500+ with inverter and SILENT pump. How silent it is, we will need wait for y4ng's feedback.

DC pump heater is always quieter than AC pump heater

To give you a clear understanding:

DC pump = low dB, less water power, 5 years warranty

AC pump = high dB, high water power, 1 year warranty

panasonic DC pump heater is just Rm400++, i am wondering if it is the cheapest DC pump heater in the market.

i'd used joven in my old apartment. consider ok lah. pump noise is noticable but not cutting tree lah. good thing about joven is, i encountered some problem with the valve previously and luckily joven carries spare parts but i need to go all the way to shah alam near kota kemuning to buy the parts. so in terms of maintenance and spare parts, joven can take care of it.
in my current home, i'm using panasonic. i think noise is comparable to my previous joven pump heater. but pressure wise i think joven wins.
in my next house, i'm thinking solar heater + grundfus pump! smile.gif

Actually many customers/forumers came to my shop and said
"Eh, joven good meh? U got sell alpha or not?". Since there are many customers asked the same question, i went to do some survey and here is my conclusion.

Joven + Cabana Rain Shower (Promotion Price RM 788)
Vs Alpha Smart Rain Shower.

1) Joven is using DC pump which is a silent pump and more durable. Alpha is using ordinary AC pump that runs on carbon and will need to add carbon after a few years. DC pump is more durable than AC pump

2) Joven comes with inverter pump & alpha just normal pump.

3) Joven is using in-mould casing technology. Alpha using normal paint spray and paint might come off or bcome lighter after a few years.

4) Cabana Rain Shower is 8" while alpha smart 5" only.

5) Design wise, Alpha's heater looks better than Joven but Cabana Rain shower is better than Alpha's rain shower.

This is the info that i got. So, you all decide which is a better buy.

To view the cabana rain shower set, you can add me in facebook and view it in my promotion album (only members can view)

it is different. If u r buying Grundfos the cost would be:
1 x Grundfos Pump
2 x Joven Heater I70e
2 x Cabana Rain shower

Total = RM 2,400

By the way, how economic is the Joven water heater 170e in terms of electric consumption?

cabana is abs shower head right?
what if i want something like joven + brass head shower set? any pricing and picture to show such combo?
is the joven i70e a new and good model? from what i know the joven is rm400+. so the cabana set is another 300+??
which one better? abs or brass?

Joven, Alpha, Panasonic and etc all use 3.6kW. To be frank, electrical consumption is about the same. If u really wanna save on electricity is to invest on solar water heater.

Yes, the cabana shower head is ABS. The promo is in my facebook, jus join to have a look.

Brass is definitely better than ABS but for normal use, ABS is good enough. My showroom Grundfos Demo is UNI E CH 4-50 and I am using an ABS rain shower for demo, still working perfectly.

for one year only? thatz too fast. Usually it will take averagely 5 years or fast 3 years for the carbon of the pump to run out and it will get louder and louder.

Joven I70P is a DC pump and does not have carbon, will last longer and silent

I had a Joven instant water heater before. Used for many years in my hostel before going kaput. Replaced it 3 years ago with another Joven with pump.
My mom has been using Alpha with pump for many years. My overall impression is that Joven kinda feel more solid, especially the old model. But overall, these instant water heater performance will deteriorate over time especially when lime accumulates inside the water heater narrow pipes.
Water pressure will deteriorate over time.

I got question...

I already bought Joven i70P. But i wanna use big shower cabana style . But the problem is my bathroom only have one output for shower.

I want use both cause i dont like using shower heater cause the shower so small. Shower heater only for my kids.

Im thinking to modified the output from the wall with extra output. but it may look ugly . . Pls advise...

THe cabana rain shower has both Rain shower & hand Shower. Just install the I70P heater and connect it to the cabana rain shower instead of the Joven Hand shower. Cabana set has a divertor to select either rain shower or hand shower.

for one year only? thatz too fast. Usually it will take averagely 5 years or fast 3 years for the carbon of the pump to run out and it will get louder and louder.

Joven I70P is a DC pump and does not have carbon, will last longer and silent

joven inverter?using less electric? Can we replace carbon in the old heater? If alpha heater expose sunlight become yellow.will joven turn color as mine is installed near window where sunlight shine in?

Joven I70 series is using In-Mould Casing technology which is first in the world, the colour will last longer.

To be honest, the inverter is for the built in pump, so not really much saving but better than nothing.

U have to make sure that you are using a DC pump heater or AC pump heater.

As discussed before :

DC pump - quieter
AC pump - noisier

The cheapest DC pump heater (so far I believe and not to forget the SAFEST Instant water heater) in the market is Panasonic, just Rm400++

Joven, alpha, beebest, electrolux...etc can match that price not? Errmmm....quite difficult

National aka Panasonic is the first who came out instant water heater in this market. If u have a chance to see its interior structure, you can understand why panasonic doesnt spend a money to advertise its heater product and yet able to get huge consumer group.

Sometimes it is not about price. Sometimes it is design and other factor. Many people bought alpha smart bcoz of the design though it is quite expensive for an AC pump (noisy). Have to agree that alpha has better design hahaha lost a lot of customer bcoz of alpha.

Didnt survey much on Panasonic but i notice some of the models have a hand shower like microphone, you will have very little volume of water... how to shower? Another thing not sure it has other colour but white will definitely turn yellowish after some time.

Joven on the other hand, has a normal round shower but u could also upgrade it with my Cabana Shower Set to get rain shower. The heater comes with in-mould casing (first in the world), the color will last longer.

This is how silent Joven I70P

panasonic heater has entry, mid and deluxe range.

if the customers worried about the colour fading, they can choose the deluxe model which is metallic silver series. the panasonic DC jet pump deluxe heater is still below RM500, its shower head is the multiple-way round type,

the microphone-like shower head model targets budget group.

consumers here are mostly influenced by the advertisement and hence the heater selection is normally local established brands.

for a better understanding on the company background, joven <-> alpha <-> beebest = saudara-mara company as many dealers know the story. smile.gif

well, alpha is going to launch the DC pump heater, the price is almost RM600.

Yes, i am using Alpha 18EP.
I bought it because design (look like turtle shell) thumbup.gif and good pump.
Price slightly higher but i have been using Alpha since 10yrs+ ago.
At 1st i find the pump very noisy.
But nowadays will feel lonely without the sound when i shower. biggrin.gif
Also, my mind tell me that other people outside cant hear that i am singing while i take shower. drool.gif

I bought my cabana from zheilwane, cabana + joven i70P i felt worth for money than alpha smart 18i brows.gif.

Because after read the post below for the smart 18i

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=39289355

I went to local shop to see the smart 18i, it seems that the shower head is smaller than the cabana one, zheilwane, is this correct?

You also can refer to the post below in which zheilwane made a comparison in between of them

It does not require electricity to function, thumbup.gif
although there is a back up built in heater that uses electricity (only if you switch it on) in case malaysia suddenly has no sunlight for more than 4 days. cool2.gif

ya lo, I also wanted to see the outcome, alpha 7" rain shower head rite? I can feel the difference for small shower head vs big one, really a lot of differences although water pressure strong for small head and low for big head, I still prefer the big one as you have larger coverage area of water biggrin.gif

Hi thr,

I just bought this model last 2 days from ESH Sri Rampai (right after read through all comments/ discussion at this link.

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/512895/all

I went to the shop and the salesperson also recommended this brand over Joven. They install it on the same day I purchased. I'm very satisfied with it as the pump is not that noisy. The water pump is really wonderful as the water pressure is high even though I also open the paip air at the same time (mind that I placed it at the upper floor where the water pressure is really really slow before).

The price is RM598 but after less I bought it for RM538 + RM60 for the installation.

Hi.
I am new to this forum. I have 18EP installed - noisy, right. The small handle you turn to get water to flow is cracked (cheap plastic, it seems). Where do I find a replacement quickly - in Jitra/Kedah?
Tks.
