i think the update change some of the network settings for gears. from what i read, they added regional matchmaking. SG will select sg player first.
also make sure ur port for u router is open. gow is very sensitive. |

ahh..i don't have the social map packs..you gotta pay for them,omg it sucks.. Btw how do i make the firewall less sensitive for my router? Btw my id's my Gamertag,add me cause i wanna play T.T.

i dont think u need social map packs to play. the last time i check using us ip theres 11000+ ppl in xbl US and not everyone has all fronts map pack.

u dont have the all fronts dlc. just host a private match

well my headset is not working properly:
1. sometimes i can hear sound from both headset & speaker and sometimes only from speaker 2. sometimes i just turn off my mic when i am talking2 to my housemate but in the game it shows me 'making noise' and this problem also happens in other games too so i ended up by removing my headset last nite  but yeah it's 'important' to use headset like last nite i could hear someone said "stick together, stick together"  |

good game last 2 nights. i just realized that my xbox didnt register my Flashbacks & Combustibles maps after transferring via flashdrive from old xbox. But since I've triggered a redownload, its in the cycle already. Finally managed to download Snowblind maps via VPN yesterday. Now I have all map packs. Do invite me if you're playing Gears2. Hope can resurrect this game before Gears3.
Now I just need some 200MS points to buy First Strike BO maps. |

Just purchased the All Fronts pack. This better be worth it. My gold account has been idle since October or thereabouts... such a waste, should have taken the 3 months reload instead of 1 year.

Microsoft notes that five multiplayer maps from the original Gears of War Map Pack 1 and "Hidden Fronts" Map Pack are not included on the disc, but available for download for free through Xbox Live. |

last year i bought 1600ms points... excitedly... just to buy all the dlc available for this game but only then i found out that they are all region lock. that 'not available at your location' error message. why must region lock? why?
 i found out that the only way to be able to download all those files - by using the VPN method which my old school pc didn't have the required hardware |

King of the Hill - Now, it should be obvious how this one is played, but this time around, the mode has been combined with Annex and given a clearer rule set. The UI has also been simplified, so determining where and who your targets are will be easier. The ring moves around the map as well, to keep you on your toes. Capture the Leader - This mode is a combination of Guardian and Submission, with some tweaks. Depending on whose side you're on, you will either aim to capture Chairman Prescott or Queen Myrrah and then hold on to him or her as long as you can. Everyone here is armed with one smoke grenade, which forces your opponent to drop the meat shield that he or she is holding, so use it wisely. The leader isn't useless either; he or she can see through walls to help coordinate his or her teammates. You can now use the left stick to spot enemies, which helps tremendously. Team Deathmatch - While all the modes are fairly intense, Team Deathmatch can get really hairy once you start to run out of respawns. Each team is assigned 15 respawns, and if your team is the one eating those up, the next time you spawn, you'll likely appear next to a teammate so that hopefully you won't die as quickly. New/modified weapons: One-Shot - If you can get someone in your line of sight, all that's going to be left of him is a red mist. It's not very discreet, so once you hear the sound, you better find something to hide behind. Sawed-off Shotgun - The shotgun tends to be a favorite among players, and the new double-barreled gun can not only take out a single opponent in one shot, but it can also take out up to three if they are clustered together. You have to get close--like up close and personal close--for this to work. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair, right? Incendiary Grenade - Aah, grenades are always good in a pinch. Especially the ones that explode on impact. Digger Launcher - The "nom nom nom" weapon fires a digger that burrows underground and eventually jumps out at its target, like a really fast and vicious mole. Retro Lancer - While you can't use a chainsaw to halve your enemies with this, you can definitely surprise enemies by skewering them in the back. You have to charge first though, so it's easy enough to dodge in close-quartered combat. But if someone's not paying attention… Hammerburst - Iron sights have been added to the hammerburst, so you can use the right stick to get a better view. Gears Of War 2 New XP Event This Week
Epic games have announced that this week there will be a 22x XP event across all game modes including Horde. Epic Games' Rod Fergusson announced via his Twitter that the XP multiplier would be the same as the amount of weight he lost in preparation for GDC. Turns out he lost a 22 pounds leading to a 22x multiplier this week. He had these words to say after; "Just popping in to say "Thanks for all the support!". I made this public so that the community would motivate me and you have certainly done that. Everytime I look at a donut I think how pissed off you would be if it were only a 3x XP event" The event will run from today February 28th until March 7th. Anyway, who have working US VPN? Last night I spent like 1+ hours trying to get VPN working on my PC but none worked

so far the only FREE SG VPN that i come across is freedom (http://www.your-freedom.net/) i have tried that my self sometime back it just doesnt pass the last 1-2% (im on free service btw)
Jason from GH tried it with paid service so far some success some dont... so u can give it a try see if it works |

why dont u use openvpn. get a cert from morevpn. and run it. i m no networking expert. thats 1 way of setting up vpn that i know off. openvpn is easier.

most of the us version games (ntsc U/C) are can play in asia console (ntsc/j) and nowadays games are region free.
some considerations regarding to region lock. asia consoles accepts US & asia games, but us consoles doesnot accept asia games, only US games. If u look at the price tag, u know why. however be extra careful toward Japanese games, sometimes they are lock to ONLY japan consoles. selfish bastards.
