QUOTE(soul2soul @ Dec 17 2010, 10:52 AM)
In economy, it's unlikely the price of goods will come down beyond a point. What the manufacturer does is normally giving out more for the same price. So it's unlikely for ISP in malaysia to slash their pricing to ridiculously low price of 3 char-kueh-tiau for a month! It's more likely that they will give more bandwidth and speed for the same price.  Take Iphone for example. The pricing of these phones will NEVER come down beyond RM1500, but Apple will just give you MORE for RM2000 in their future products.

I was just trying to show you that , you cannot expect ISP to charge only RM20 / month for 1mbps connection. RM20 is not very big in malaysia you know. Watch 2 movies, eat 3 meals gone already. Prices of goods and commodity keeps going up. Raw materials also go up. Wagers also need to go up to catch up. ISP needs to pay more for more qualified people to manage their networks, and they are not doing you a charity.

5 star hotel charkuey tiau costs RM12 per plate.  RM4 - RM5 at KL already hawker stalls depending on the number of prawns they put in. You seldom eat outside is it? Eat more in KL and you will know how low the purchasing power of Ringgit is.

Bottom line is, ringgit's purchasing power has eroded so much since the 1970s as compared to Singapore/Brunei dollar. For RM20 is like only S$ 8. You think S$8 can get you 1mbps in singapore?

Still running good with somewhat minimal capping (now at 380-420 kBps)...

Cap is on selectively for me.

Some FHs work fine at full speed, others slightly lower.. i use premium for all of them, so it's not a free user issue..

e.g. RS and MU are maxed out, but FS and HF are capped to 3 Mbps...

Their claims of some fault maybe true..

Been a while since i last posted.. everything seems peachy for now... solid 440-450 kBps still, except for brief periods of slowdown between 10pm - 1am..

But i know this is just yet another calm before the storm....

All good things must come to an end.....

EDIT: I've been reading http://stopthecap.com/ for quite a bit now... apparently other countries have started contemplating doing what TMNUT wants to do soon... They tried doing it in the Philippines but met huge consumer uproar... and citizens actually complained to their representatives... just a dream for us i suppose lol...
