What about software support for powerpoint presentations? It's really important as I want to use it instead of my heavy like hell notebook.
*
2 points :

1. The adapter is not fully compatible with all LCD - you have to check compatibility
2. Powerpoint NO - convert it to Apple's Keynote

Read here : All the commonly ask questions about this adapter before you buy. It has several limitations

Your question is too vague . What are you trying to sync ??

On the iTunes /iPad window - did you select what you want to sync ?

Yup, I ticked up things tat i want to transfer, thn only i click sync. Thn it got show syncing on top, after it loaded i check my iPad, but nothing was transferred. I'm trying to transfer my iPhone apps n music to my iPad. Thx.
*
Connect your iphone to PC ; at iTunes right click iphone ( or whatever name you have labelled it) - select TRANSFER PURCHASES - - sync . All your iphone apps will be in your computer under Mobile Applications. Connect your ipad and at itines/ipad window - select the apps tab - select sync apps and select all or which apps you need to sync. You can only sync Apple approved apps ; if you have any other non Approved ( JB or others) apps it will not be sync over

For Music : Have you ever sync with your PC ? If you have it will be in your PC. If not , similarly connect your iphone to PC and sync over first , then only connect to ipad and select accordingly at the music tab

QUOTE(ronnie @ Dec 19 2010, 11:41 AM)
Can iPad handle .MKV files which is encoded in .h264 ?
If yes, which media player is recommended?
*
Free app : VLC - but don' t expect too much. This is a shortcoming of the iPad more than VLC, as the iPad is really only designed to play back MPEG4/H.264 encoded to Apple's specifications. VLC doesn't seem to take advantage of the iPad's MPEG/H.264 hardware acceleration, and so HD files tend to be unwatchable and may cause crashes. VLC will warn you when you're trying to throw a file at it that your iPad can't handle.

Based on my experience playing movies on the ipad the BEST method is still to convert it to Apple's approved format. Hate it or leave it, the Ipad was so designed to " discourgae" one to use other 3rd party players. I have tried several and even purchase CinexPlayer and YXPlayer. All these 3rd party 's performances is erractic and inconsistent., waste of my money . Just try your luck , dependent on the quality of the videos.

Free reasonably good solutions to convert : HANDBRAKE and AIRVIDEO .

You mean this?

Q: How does the ipad warranty work in Malaysia? Duration? How to void?
a) If I get from oversea county?
b) If I get from Malaysia?
A: -update soon-

?

I can't seem to find the answer...
*
Ipad comes with international warranty. You can just sent in to any authorized apple's service centers . How long the repair/or replacement will depend on the seriousness of the fault . Be prepare to wait up to 1-2 weeks. Note some of the centers are drop points - so it is better sent to center that can process it . If yours is a foreign purchase set - you might need to pay up to RM 60 for service charge ( dependent on seriousness of your ipad's problem )

Not allowed as the MODs are very stricty here. It is a blanket ruling to avoid people from posting sales related items. Even though all my blog entries has nothing to do with sales/or warez I still got warning from the MODS. They deleted several my posts when I try to help and link solutions to my blog

Hi, new to this. Not yet getting any case. Need recommendation on screen protector and case. Is it necessary to get a mini bluetooth keyboard? Using this mostly to surf. Thanks.
*
I would highly recommend SGP screen protector - it is available in most Apple resellers but is expensive - I bought in May cost me RM 120 ( inclusive applied to ipad ). Now should be cheaper
Usually my budget for screen protectors is low - all my smartphones I just use cheap type RM 10 range - works well for me. But for the iPad I splurge this amount as it is a big screen and unlike phones where time spend using is minimal - it could be hours on the iPad. Before that I use a RM30+ quality - it was poor and attracts fingerprint smudges making the ipad unsightly

Yes it is many times better ; I'd say such issues are not soo noticeable. If not I will not pay such a high price for it

I have PowerSupport AntiGlare for iPhone4 and iPad. For me, it's a good brand and worth the investment.

Have you updated to the latest 4.2.1 (not 4.2)?
*
YES , Powersupport is another highly recommended SP - it is not cheap. One of my friend is using it too. I remember it is more expensive than SGP

Can your iPad detect your 3G sim card ? If it can, most probably you have to set in the APN settings manually : Go to Settings to do it

You can only downgrade provided you have save your SHSH blobs

It cannot be recharged using the USB ports on any non-Apple computer. However it can be charged through an an iMac and a MacBook Pro. The iPad would not charge using any USB ports on several Windows machines, nor through the USB port on an Apple wired keyboard connected to the iMac.

According to Apple Tech Support:

* For the fastest charging, use the iPad’s included 10-Watt USB power adapter. This will fully charge the iPad in a few hours, even if you’re using the iPad at the same time.
* When connected to a high-power USB port—such as the ones on recent Macs and the iPhone Power Adapter—the iPad will charge, even during use, but more slowly. Some third-party powered USB hubs provide higher-power USB ports, but many don’t; similarly, the USB ports on most Windows PCs don’t provide this additional power.
* When connected to lower-power USB ports—those on older Macs, most Windows PCs, and most USB hubs (powered or unpowered)—the iPad’s battery is not charged while the iPad is awake, but is charged (again, slowly) when the iPad is asleep. What’s confusing here is that the message Not charging appears in the menu bar when the iPad is awake, which might lead you to assume that the offending USB port can never charge your iPad. But rest assured, : once you put the iPad to sleep, the battery will indeed charge.

Steve Jobs take/rants on 7" tablets on 18 Oct : If there is a 7" iPad , wonder how Steve going to justify his earlier opinions , summarized below

- Just a handful of credible entrants. Almost all use 7" screen, compared to iPad at nearly 10" screen. 7" screen is only 45% as large as iPad's screen. Hold an iPad in portrait view and draw a horizontal line halfway down. What's left is a 7" screen...too small. There are clear limits to how close elements can be on the screen before users can't touch accurately. We believe 10-inch screen is minimum necessary. Not big enough to make great tablet apps.

- Apple has done extensive testing, really understand this stuff. Limits to how close you can place elements for usability. Why 10″ is minimum size for great tablet apps.

- Every tablet user is also smartphone user. No tablet can fit in your pocket. Giving up precious diplay area to fit tablets in pockets isn’t the way to go. Tweeners.

- New crop of tablets ( esp 7" ) will likely be DOA - " dead on arrival" . Too small.

- Reason they wouldn’t make 7-inch tablet isn’t because of price point, it’s because they think it’s too small to express the right software. Apple is a software-first company. Developers aren’t going to deal really well with different screen sizes, when they can’t put enough elements on screen to build the apps they want to build. 7-inches isn’t about cost, it’s about value when you factor in software.

MSO2003 is Windows O/s wile iPad is MacOSX, two completely different O/S. Your best alternatives on the IPAD are either QuickOffice or Docs To Go ( about US$ 15-17) or Apple iWork Package ( Page, Keynote and Numbers , each one cost US$9.99 )

It will never end ; buy ipad2 , six months later you will hear news of ipad3
Just buy it if you really need it. No point waiting. If you can wait , then wait longer for ipad3

Infosync yesterday news release:

Details on the upcoming iPad 2 got revealed a couple of weeks ago, when a source described it as a thinner and lighter device than the original iPad. It was for instance said to offer a similar display as the original. Apple Insider today reports that an analyst, who proved to be accurate when it came to iPhone 4 information last year, has given them some details on the display.

Given the iPad's heavy focus on being a more advanced alternative to the typical eReader, its display offers obvious room for improvement. And it looks like Apple is aiming to improve readability outdoors with the iPad 2. Upcoming iPad 2 models are said to be using a thinner panel with "anti-reflection" to deliver a better experience in bright sunlight.

The analyst also offered some insight on a couple of other devices that are also in the pipeline, namely the iPad 3 and a new iPod touch. It's already known that Apple is currently testing an iPad with a QXGA display, and the analyst says that this model will become the iPad 3.

Several leaks have suggested that Apple is making heavy investments related to display technology and plants, investments that'll gradually pay off over the next couple of years. It's viable to believe that the iPad 3 could be released in mid-2012 with a QXGA display. As far as hardware to drive it all, NVIDIA is already giving us some pretty good clues about what it takes to pull it off.

Moreover, the analyst told Apple Insider that a new iOS device is currently undergoing evaluation for a potential release during the second half of 2011, with a screen size between that of the current iPad and the iPhone. This is in line with a recent posting by Czech site SuperApple.
