The canon ending is at minimum Shepard surviving, could be some impact if other died or survived (I hope there will be) If Shepard dies, your save won't import to ME3. Play it again, or start with a generic Shepard.

If the decisions from the previous games does make a reasonable difference in ME3 and ME3 ended beautifully, i say ME3 will be the best shooter RPG of 2011. ME2 is already the best shooter of 2010 and i want ME3 to top that. On the other hand, we have Witcher 2, which is gonna be very decision heavy, as the first game's 3 endings will be transferred to Witcher 2. Plus 16 different ending in Witcher 3. I think 2011 will be an epic year for RPG.
