hmm i think most of the indoor pics can use some bumping up in brightness
*
Instead of going for brightness, perhaps you should go for more contrast. Try toning down the EV a notch or two, you'll achieve better contrast and colours. Worked for me when I was using the Arc a few months back wink.gif

Photography you need to adept to the lighting in the location with the right angle you will shock what amazing result it can show

+1 smile.gif

@xtorm
X10 post processing compression is to me minimal resulting in better detail. They've done heavy compression on Arc probably to keep the user interface snappy as it wouldn't have to handle bigger files. That's just my suspicion though coz otherwise it wouldn't make sense to dilute the actual quality the sensor is able to produce.

They're pictures from both France and Switzerland. The last photo was taken on Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe sweat.gif Didn't bring any other camera than my trusty X10 biggrin.gif

Woah.. mode893's pictures really really impressive!
The x10 you mentioned is it x10i or any other else? Nvm, found out already tongue.gif
Those pictures look better than N8 one from here ._.
Really keen to know how do you capture picture usually, did you use any tools (like lens) to help?
*
Guys, just let me answer this fine chap's question eh? wink.gif

1) Thanks smile.gif
2) Yes, I brought only one camera for my European holiday, my X10
3) X10 takes better pictures than N8? In some instances I believe so yes, but definitely not in the macro shot department whistling.gif I think SE's stupid to totally 'forget' to advertise the camera doh.gif
4) No tools or lens, like I said everything stock software except for Sweep Panorama for some of the landscapes which is now stock in the current Xperias' camera UI. Just clean your lens everytime you pull it out of your pocket to take pics, compose the frame, be aware of your EV and shoot! Works like a charm everytime, why do you think I'm confident enough to leave my dedicated digicam back home thumbup.gif

A souvenir I took back laugh.gif

p/s: I think DSLRs are good to make mundane photos look great but in a beautiful place, a mobile camera can capture the beauty just fine wink.gif

Some test shots from my new Arc S. I find that while Arc/Arc S seems to be noob-proof (target market is for those who just point and shoot), it cannot excell like X10 which I have found to have a more superior sensor

Here, X10 seems to display a brighter image with less noise, and more accurate colours although Arc S colour seem warmer and look sharper (with more noise though) to most

I miss my X10 sad.gif

@aspire2oo6
You're right, at 12mp full resolution combined with a monster optics no phone in the market can top N8's macro detail

Impressive dynamic range apparently, I thought the skylight frame would be dark for sure as I was shooting straight at the sun on the bottom left
