is inspira better than forte?

Both are good cars. However, in Malaysia, definitely YES.

We won't know future, however, for today, in terms of repairing, second hand value, spare part price, korean car doesn't seem convincing at Malaysia. We can't review/compare the car depend on how best selling it at oversea, because we are not staying there. We buy, sell, repair the car here (Malaysia) and we suffer here if have problem.

I was quoted RM700 for the whole car, the process takes about 6-8 hours depending on your car's condition. The warranty is given for 5 years. The only advantage is there is no more follow up sessions/treatments.
*
Actually do you mind to share, in between 5 years, what is the condition that we know we can claim the warranty ?

Added on December 24, 2010, 4:55 pmif you guys still remember, someone say that the inspira back bonnet have something unwrap due to cut cost. But, I just notice this happen to the Lancer Fortis model at Taiwan too.

See below image : http://roadtest.u-car.com.tw/roadtest-imag...44/rc-60625.jpg

I think the Inspira is using some backbone same as Taiwan Lancer Fortis or IO

I think they receive too much complain on current 1.5 month delivery date. That's why exaggerated for 4 months delivery now.

I think for for inspira, I prefer to get the car asap. At least the most of the parts still use Mitsubishi.

If not mistaken, 15 Jan onwards will be second batch of production and will have more on Inspira 2.0. So, most of us will be able to get the car at Feb or latest March. But, not sure how many percent will be the local content for this batch.

I have been working with production line before (not proton) but with others japanese manufacturer. One of my friend who previously WORK with ONE OF JAPANESE CAR MANUFACTURER told me that WHY THE BOOKING ALWAYS DELAYS. The reason is simple.. 1st BATCH is ALWAYS BECOME THE FEEDBACK BATCH FOR MANUFACTURER to IMPROVE. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THERE WILL ONLY FEW HUNDRED or FEW THOUSAND TO TEST RUN ON THE ROAD by the CUSTOMER/BUYER.

Those who get their car during this first batch will become their FEEDBACK for ANY PROBLEM OCCURS.

To me those who has booked and waited for long period. I think you on second batch that AFTER IMPROVED MADE from the 1st batch of production. Better become 2nd batch of production. because this will be an improvement product.

Sorry to hilight this and no offense. (because I read to many post waited for their new car)
*
I agreed with this. However, I think the scenario with Inspira is a bit difference. The existing model (Lancer) already in the market for few year. Thus, I believe most of the problem already been rectified. This is not brand new production car.

I still prefer to get the car as early as possible, because, I trust Mitsubishi part more then local parts. With 26% of local parts, this is quite worth buying car. If increase to 40%, then have to think twice.

I think after few years, we can still opt for original Mitsubishi parts, only thing is more expensive.

MY SA cakap kastam got issue registration anyways any pointers to check before collect car

I suggest ask your SA which Kastam reference no on this matter. You say you got friend that have authority to access to Kastam to solve the issue. rclxms.gif

If got it, call to Kastam to ask about it, then know it is true or not.

However, personally, I don't trust this kind of thing. It is just delaying of time.

Below is the precious info that I got from my CRAZY experiment. However, this data is for my 1.8cvt, yours might be slightly diff:

Tank Size: exactly 60 Liter    Refuled at the R&R, some say 53L or 59L before...
Full tank went: 752km  -    nearly can cross the peninsular on the PLUS!
Engine dead after 2nd Empty Indicator Sound (reset) : 84.7km    now easily can still cruisin 50km after the second indicator sound b4 refuling.
FC: 12.5km/L or 7.97L/100km        not bad, huh?
agreed to the comment that might cause problem kt fuel pump and so on. Of course wont do it again... Cheers..

Can I know, your FC is on Highway ?

I ask at PE Mutiara before, they say not recommended to use own oil with some rubbish reason.

May be you guys can try to ask again there.

I will do mine at COE, also with the bumper complain

what I plan to do IF I opt for syntium 800, I will go change oil at a normal mechanic shop when it reaches 5k also with syntium 800, then reach 10k go back to SC for regular service again, this way i dont waste the free service and engine oil provided.
*
Good idea !! But the oil filter ? Do we able to get those same as given by Proton ? If not, will they notice it ?

Just FYI, my bro have T brand car, the T. SC also practice to use Semi Syn with 10k interval. His car already reach 100k mileage, touch wood no issue yet.

Oil filter if the mechanic shop got the exact brand, then can change also, but if dont have, I think can still use back the same and last until the 10k service interval?  hmm.gif

I just dont want to take risk of pushing the engine oil to 10k, dont mind to spend another RM100 to have peace of mind driving the car, is all I want, smile.gif

Added on January 7, 2011, 1:39 pmYes, free service is given free semi-syn oil, I liked to bring my own oil but then have to bring back the free semi-syn oil and put in store room? Quite a waste for me.
*
If change the oil outside, i think might as well change the oil filter. If I am not mistaken, the filter is a question mark whether it can last for 10k or not. Further more is something not expensive.

As per my last time under tree foreman, he say, Full syn oil can last for 10k, semi syn is arguable, but the oil filter is too risky to use till 10k.

I think risk is everywhere. However, change of engine oil only should be ok for all mechanics. Just sometimes careless due to the fault.

Hi,

If you talk about sport rims or rim sukan nie, I think the shop at Jalan Kapar is the best lah, it is the 4 floor building, used to be the shop they call kedai kayu, they moved to their own building now, near Caltex if I'm now mistaken but there is a petrol station nearby.

I always recommend to my friend even though from KL and even friend from KB also now bout this shop.

The price for trade in also quite high and I highly recommend these shop to those who wish to change their sport rims BUT if you go there on sunday especially, well at least it will take half of your day as there are lots of ppl during weekends.

And yes, don't ever forgot to nego, U might get good bargain like free allignment or beautiful discount.

Cheers
